This book was brutal, bloody, and impossible to put down. Emery is thrown straight into hell with the Trials, and every scene pushed her to the edge. She’s fierce but also deeply human, and I loved how her strength showed in small moments as much as in the fights.
Cameron is dangerous in every sense, but he’s also the kind of character you can’t look away from. His volatility kept me on edge, and the connection between him and Emery was messy, sharp, and full of tension. Their bond didn’t feel easy, and that’s exactly what made it work.
The Dark Forces world is violent and unrelenting, but it also felt alive — each trial and twist hit hard, right up to the ending that left me staring at the page. K.M. Moronova wrote something raw, addictive, and unforgettable.

THAT ENDING?!?!
This story was dark and twisted but also so beautiful. To broken soldiers who are just trying to survive and they find comfort in each other. Also the spice! I loved this story and can’t wait for book 2. As always another amazing story that is so beautifully written from K.M. Moronova!

I was lucky enough to read My Knife, Your Heart by K.M. Moronova as an e-ARC, and wow… this book took me apart in the best (and worst) possible way. Told in dual POV, it’s fast-paced and relentless, pulling you straight into a story full of gut-wrenching emotion and brutal intensity.
The characters aren’t just battling their external trials—they’re also fighting the demons within, and that raw vulnerability hit me hard. Every challenge felt earned, every setback cut deep, and by the time I reached the final chapters, I wasn’t sure if I had finished the book or if the book had finished me. Spoiler: it definitely finished me.
The ending left me completely stunned, the kind of silence-after-the-last-page moment where you just sit there, unable to move, still processing everything.
My Knife, Your Heart is fierce, gripping, and unforgettable.

It was exhilarating. It was intense, and the story will grab your attention and tell you not to look away. How could i not love both of the characters, Cameron and Emery. Their souls fit perfectly with whatever pieces they had left. It was beautifully melancholy. I found myself emotional, and this ending left me shocked but also ready for what is to come next.

Your Knife My Heart had me enthralled from page 1. Meeting Emery in the prison and watching her change and evolve the farther you get into the story and during the trials was amazing. Meeting Cameron and also watching him change an evolve for Emery was breathtaking. K.M knows how to create a beautiful and heartbreaking world. The ending? 100% didn't see it coming. I absolutely can't wait to read the second book.
I can't say enough good things about this story. I will definitely be recommending this book to anyone who will listen.
Loved, loved, LOVED this story.

Thank you Netgalley for an e-arc of this book.
THE ENDING, NO!!
I love me some deadly trials in my books and K.M Moronova isn't scared to make them as brutal and bloody as possible.
I'm not sure how I feel about Cameron and Emery. I like them, but I didn't really get connected to them until the end. However:
I love how kind Emery could be despite everything that was happening, while Cameron is this grump who kills anyone on sight, but he has a soft spot only for her.
This book is a dark dystopian with slow burn romance sprinkled in, taking place in a military base. Mind you, its also pretty spicy (🌶🌶🌶.5 In my opinion, but I must admit I skimmed most of it, because I'm not a big spice girlie)

I didn't think a book could be on the same level as Leave Me Behind, but boy was I wrong! What a ride that was, the chemistry between MMC & FMC was unmatched 😍 I absolutely devoured this read and loved the storyline, and cannot wait to read more of Moronova's work 😍

SHE DOES IT AGAINNNNNN. The ending?! What am I supposed to do now!!!!!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Cameron and Emery are so beautifully twisted. I appreciate that KM didn’t shy away from making that very clear. I’m excited to see what the next book holds for them.
Add to your TBR everyone. This was amazing!
Thank you NetGalley and KM for the ARC !!! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.

Sitting here crying over fictional couples 😂 This book wrecked me in the best way. Action packed with a Death Match Hunger Games for criminals vibe mixed with dark military forces and it was absolutely wild. I felt every single emotion for these pitch black characters. This author is officially an auto buy for me and one of the best I have found from TikTok 🖤 4.5 stars only because that damn ending sent me flying off the handles lol

K.M. Moronova’s Your Knife, My Heart is a fierce, raw, and relentlessly dark military romance that drags you into its sordid depths—and refuses to let go. If you're drawn to books with high-stakes tension, antihero romance, and unapologetic edge, this one demands to be read.
I'd rate it 4.5 to 5 stars—the pacing is relentless, and the emotional undercurrents pack a powerful punch. With its morally ambiguous characters and immersive world, it's a standout for fans of dark and dangerous romance.
Recommendation: Ideal for readers who love antihero dynamics, violent suspense, and morally grey, addictive romance. Be sure to include a TRIGGER WARNING for violence, psychological intensity, and sexual content as these elements are central throughout.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THAT ENDING?!?
4.5⭐️ 3🌶
When I saw the ARC available for this book, I knew automatically that I absolutely had to have it. K.M. Moronova knows how to write the hell out of a morally black MMC. Cameron/Cam/Mori was everything I wanted and more. If you loved Bones in Leave Me Behind, Cameron is gonna be your next obsession. He has all the things I loved about Bones with an extra dark, sociopathic mix thrown in.
Emery gave me all the badass, female rage vibes without being whiny and a "pick me" like so many "hard" female characters end up being.
The relationship between her and Cam were one of my favorites, even with the wild whiplash you get from Cam going between the love/hate for Emery. It was definitely necessary for his part of character development and I think it would have fallen flat without it. (And i need to throw in some extra love for that scene on the train 🔥) Cameron definitely ends up falling HARD in the end and I'm 100% here for it.
I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for the next book, and hopefully can manage to snag my hands on the ARC for that as well just so I don't have to wait until December 😆

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Yes, 6 stars)

“Do you find my story to be a sad one? What are you yearning for? Tell me, and whatever it is, I will give it to you”
At this point I can confidently say that I have a love-hate relationship with K.M Moronova (respectfully, of course). She is SO extremely talented in what she does… crafts a world where falling head over heels over the tormented, beautifully broken, tortured MMC is the only logical thing to do. No matter the time or place, crimes committed by said tortured MMC all you are capable of doing is loving him.
“Your Knife, My Heart” definitely lives up to its name. It is her (K.M Moronova’s) knife (figuratively) through her creative writing and prose that pierces your heart and leaves an impact so big that the only reasonable thing to do is mope and be stuck with a book hangover until she writes her next book. This book has by far, one of the biggest cliffhangers I’ve read to date. I need the next book, like- yesterday! The relationships built, the devastating events that unfold and the climax of the storyline delivers such a high that you don’t realize you are about to plummet to the deepest parts of the abyss when you read that last chapter… that final line that leaves you completely and utterly shocked. Speechless and dumbfounded without a sense of direction or plan for your life.
Every time I pick up another K.M book, I somehow fool myself into thinking that I will be fine. That this time will be different and she won’t devastate and destroy my heart, that the book hangover won’t be a big one… what a silly notion to hold on to. I yearn for the characters that she creates, the plots that she has yet to put to paper and the trauma that I will endure on the next encounter with heartbreak through K.M’s work. Reading this as an ARC has been an absolute pleasure- so thank you K.M Moronova for sucking me in yet again with another addicting, soul shattering dark military romance masterpiece. Until we meet again on “My Blade, Your Back”… I am here for it!

A fun dark romance read. Although I did enjoy the enemies to lovers concept the book was not my favorite. I had a hard time reading some parts of the novel.

I would never have thought i would be so invested in the romance between two killers, but I will see all of you in Hell. God, I loved this

K.M. Moronova has done it again! Your Knife, My Heart was everything I wanted and more. She never fails to please and knows exactly how to make things deliciously dark while still giving me all the feels.
I was hooked right away—the story is raw, intense, and honestly addictive. The characters had me completely invested, and I loved the mix of pain, passion, and those little glimmers of hope that made it all hit even harder.
Honestly I knew I was going to have some for of clif hanger but I did not expect that so I’m going to need the next book like right now!

let me just scream into the void because AHHHH, I need more. this has me running laps and maybe believing in god for once in my life

Wow.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m not sure how Moronova did it but I was in love with these characters from the very beginning and only fell harder with every turn of the page.
Whoo! This book is angsty. It’s rough and dirty, soooo so hot, tragic and extremely edible. Moronova’s writing was perfectly paced and tickled every twisted itch along the way. This story is emotional and steamy while also supplying an entertaining concept and plot. I am a woman obsessed.
Our MMC is Cameron- painfully beautiful and scarred military guinea pig with an inconvenient taste for murder. And he’s got mommy issues. Long addicted to the substances gifted to him by the Dark Forces, he’s no rookie to the cut-throat risks of this organization and their experimenting.
He meets our FMC Emery- a small, pastel pink-haired executioner that was forced into a bloody past and has a complcated family history. She narrowly escapes her death sentence only to realize that he just might be her next death sentence.
Cameron must resist these killer side effects while teaming up with Emery to navigate through a series of deadly trials. Emery has all the odds stacked against her as she hopes to make it through this fight for her freedom. The two are forced to work together as they face many challenges. In the end will they be each other’s salvation? Or damnation??
This is my first K. M. Moronova read and I am immediately adding her entire backlog to my tbr. I NEED MORE.
And a massive thank you to the author, publishers, and NetGalley for giving me an eARC in exchange for an honest review. @k.m.moronova @read_bloom @netgalley

I don’t know what special magic KMM manages to weave into these dark military romances but they are as much beautiful as deranged.
𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭.
I loved everything about this. The connection between Emery and Cameron was just…I can’t even describe it. Why are two absolutely tortured souls recognizing each other the most delicious thing ever? Even the immediate sexual tension between these two aside, the moments where all they are doing is staring into each other eyes is so emotionally fraught that the world goes still. And those rare moments when Cameron felt tenderness towards Em was too much for my soul to handle. This book is ugly and it’s raw but just like Em making something beautiful from her ugly work KMM manages the same. Although she might owe me a new Kindle since the ending had me hurling it across the room.
If you loved Bones and Bunny you will absolutely love this book.
What you get:
- dark military romance
- forced proximity
- kill or be killed
- psycho MMC
- hurt/comfort
- literally one bed

First off, a big thank-you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
As a fan of dark fantasy romance, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, Your Knife, My Heart didn't quite land for me. I found Cameron—despite his layered, turbulent past—hard to connect with; his actions and demeanor didn’t make it easy to root for him. This lack of likability made it difficult for me to truly buy into his relationship with Emery. While there are moments of tension and a raw energy meant to propel their bond, their connection felt unconvincing rather than compelling. Overall, it missed the mark for emotional engagement for me.

I was hooked from the very beginning. Your Knife, My Heart has everything that I love in a dark romance. Thrilling and suspenseful, packed with high-stakes action from the very beginning. Plus, when you add in the scorching hot chemistry and tension between Cameron and Emery, this is a five-star read for me.
Your Knife, My Heart is a dark military romance. Cameron, a member of the dark forces, is being used to test out a new drug stimulant to create better soldiers. However, as a side effect, Cameron can't keep from killing his partners while in the line of duty. He is then forced to take on a new partner, Emery, and the stakes are high; he has to learn how to control his mind and killer urges before he does something truly terrible. Emery's hands aren't exactly clean either; no one in the underground dark forces is. But she's never been up against someone like Cameron before. They aren't given a choice; they must work closely together as a team to survive, while also knowing that Cameron could snap at any moment.
The moments I loved the most are the emotional push and pull between wanting to genuinely care for each other, but also not fully trusting each other, which kept me turning the pages. They form a bond between them that made my heart so warm but also heavy, knowing the obstacles they face. I love them together so much, and I need more of them.
Some of the tropes and micro-tropes that I loved in this book include forced proximity, one bed, touch her and die, trainer/trainee, a mafia princess assassin fmc, a tortured morally black mmc, high stakes survival trials, spicy slow burn tension leading up to spicy scenes.
I definitely recommend reading Your Knife, My Heart, and I will be counting the days until I get more of Cameron and Emery's story in My Blade, Your Back.
