This is a really beautiful, sweet, thoughtful book on inclusion. I’ve read (and own) a few other books geared towards children trying to teach them about ways kids can be different than themselves and how to treat them and this one will definitely end up on my shelf too! The illustrations are beautiful and bright and eye catching, the writing is engaging but also simple enough for our little readers to understand and learn from. I have a brother with Autism so this really hits home for me. I’m so glad I was given the opportunity to do an advanced read on this one!

Thank you for the ARC. This is such an important book now a days as ADHD AND Autism are being more and more talked about. This was educational both for myself and my son and masking. It was an engaging story and the pictures were vibrant and colorful.

Loved this story and the illustrations! As school starts this is the perfect opportunity to read this book with your child and have some meaningful conversations. This book tells the story of Minna masking as she starts at a new school. It also includes a note for parents and caregivers, an explanation of what is masking, and some other useful information about masking. This book isn’t just for children, but for adults that interact with children too.

Minna has AuDHD (autism and ADHD) and wears many masks: one for when she needs to feel braver, one for when things around her are too overstimulating, and many, many more for all the things that might feel like a bit of a struggle. But when Minna arrives on the first day at her new school, she realizes she's made a terrible mistake and forgot to pack her masks! How will she get through the day? Luckily, with empathetic friends and an understanding teacher, Minna discovers that (with or without masks), she can use coping skills and handle anything that comes her way.

This is a simple but effective introduction for kids to the concept of masking when neurodivergent, and the adorable illustrations are spot-on and engaging. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a helpful addition to a classroom social/emotional library. It is informative and helpful in a world where there is more and more diversity being recognized. The illustrations are beautiful and there is a lot of diversity in the the background that any child would feel at home.

This was a very cute story about a neurodivergent girl who has trouble adjusting to school. She finds a friend who shares her coping mechanism and all is well! The pictures are well done and the story is fast and sweet. This is a great book for kids.
