I’m about 30% into Baldwin: A Love Story and already deeply engaged. At over 700 pages (24+ hours on audio), this is not a quick read, but one that invites careful attention and reflection.

The audiobook narration by Ronnie Butler Jr. is outstanding. His steady pacing, rich tone, and ability to shift voices bring Baldwin’s world vividly to life and make the listening experience immersive.

What stands out at this stage is how the book frames Baldwin not only through the lens of his literary work, but also as a man navigating love, friendship, and identity.

I already anticipate purchasing a physical copy, as this is a work I’ll want to revisit.
