This book was very great. Charlotte Wren has made me a fan of historical fiction. Loved the couple and how things went throughout the story. Highly would recommend reading !

Louisa is not looking forward to her season as she has not felt any attraction to the men.
But then she runs into Maxwell who is a hardened businessman and becomes fascinated by him.
But the bad part for Louisa is his engagement to an aristocratic’s daughter until a mishap at a ball.
Their marriage is off to a rocky start with plot twists that make their lives difficult.
Side character stories add to the compelling nature of the romance.
Longer than a usual read but worth it..

Max and Louisa made me giggle on one page and nearly scream on the next. The mark of a perfect romance novel.
