Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me. I gave it a fair shot, but I couldn’t get into the story or connect with the characters. The narration didn’t help much either—it felt flat and didn’t pull me in. I know others might enjoy it, but it wasn’t for me.

This was cute! Lots of tennis drama and mental health representation. I wanted a little more angst but I did love the friendship build up! I like that even while the characters teased each other, they always encouraged each other when needed. Narrators both fit the personalities of the characters.

Dylan Bailey is CURSED never to win a Grand Slam- like, she’s come in second place TEN times. She’s about to give up, but she meets Oliver Anderson who tempts her with a bet she couldn’t refuse. They build a solid friendship while Dylan embarks on this championship-winning journey, lines are blurred and romance ensues.
I really wish I liked this one more than I did. I will say, I appreciated that the plot of this book doesn’t follow the “typical” romance storyline, and I think I would have enjoyed this one more had I read it physically than listened to the audio. I honestly had a really tough time with the narrators, especially the FMC. The dramatization of the plot leaned a little to “over-the-top” for me, so much so that the story really just ended up coming off cheesy. Which was a bummer because I thought some of the obstacles Dylan faces and her self-growth throughout the story could have been really well-portrayed.
I’d definitely give Meg Jones another try with a physical read! I just wasn’t nuts about these narrators.
Thank you to HarperAudio and NetGalley for the audio ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Game Point had such an exciting premise, and I really enjoyed the single tennis aspect! But the pacing felt a little uneven, and the romance didn’t feel as fleshed out as I wanted. I found myself wishing for more coach-player banter, as that dynamic had so much promise and could’ve added an extra spark to their connection. Still, the setup was fun and the idea had a lot of potential.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ALC!

Thank you Net Galley and Harper Audio Adult for this audiobook of Game Point for my honest review.
4 out of 5 stars (Dual pov Dylan and Oliver)
Sports Romance - Tennis
All of the different voices with this audiobook really brought me into tennis world of game point.
Dylan is on a losing streak, so she decides to put the racket down. Until she runs into Oliver, another tennis player who convinces her to give it one last shot with a tempting bet. Oliver even decides to be her coach.
Will they be able to keep their eyes on the ball or will they sway with the newfound tension?
I really liked how lighthearted this book was, Oliver always tries to uplift Dylan. I also loved how much tennis we saw played out.

I received this as an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult/Avon for an eARC of this book!
"Game Point" was a dual pov, tennis romance, narrated by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells. It followed Dylan Bailey and Oliver Anderson. Dylan Bailey continuously makes it to Grand Slams but ends up losing, so in an attempt to stop her from retiring, Oliver Anderson decides to coach her. Will she finally win a Grand Slam?
To start, I think that the narrators, Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells did a fantastic job with the audiobook. They did a great job adding depth and emotion to the story. They really brought the characters to life.
As for the tennis aspect, I went into this story knowing little to nothing about tennis and was a little concerned that I would have no idea what was going on. However, Meg Jones did a tremendous job explaining relevant parts of the sport and making all of the tennis scenes understandable. Even though I don't know much about tennis, I was able to enjoy the tennis aspects of the story and I could see how it really added to the storyline.
I really enjoyed the characters in this novel. I feel that they both had pretty good depth and were relatable. I liked their growth throughout the book and I enjoyed the friends to lovers trope that was involved.
To add on, I really liked the premise and plot of this book. This was a new spin on sports romance and I liked how the story was executed. The coaching was fun to read about and it was cool seeing friends to lovers incorporated.
Overall, this was a fun read! I gave this book a 3.5 star rating which I rounded up to 4! I think tennis fans will love this but even if you don't know much about tennis, this is still a good read!

3.5 stars for me. Tried a new sports romance - tennis. You get coach and player, lots of tension, friends to lovers in this one. Perfect if you are looking for a spicy sports romance and this one had a fair share of the tennis. I think overall, I think I missed the super angst of this relationship, and maybe it's supposed to be super light hearted with more fun. It just didnt really grab me like I had hoped it would. Thank you to Harper Audio for this audio copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is the 2nd book in the series, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. It's a friends-to-lovers book, with the FMC at her low point, and her friend decides to help her out by coaching her to get her back in shape. Of course, there is the delicious tension between the two, and it's a bit of a slow burn, but it's got the spice and banter that make a book fun. I look forward to reading more from this author and in this series!

I liked this book but I didn't think it was overly special. It is definitely a cute quick read. It's good for sure! Nothing just stood out to me. A relatively typical sports romance book. If you are looking for a tennis romance this is definitely the book for you. Honestly I am just more interested in the FMC's friends stories. Dylan was just too vanilla for me
The voice actors were brilliant though. Loved them both.

Meg Jones absolutely smashed it with this sports romance — I was hooked from page one! Dylan and Oliver’s story is the perfect mix of heart, heat, and high-stakes tennis drama.
✔️ Friends-to-lovers that feels authentic and earned
✔️ Coach/player tension that brings all the angst
✔️ A wager that raises the emotional (and romantic) stakes
✔️ Slow burn payoff that’s so worth the wait
What I loved most? The way Jones balances the intensity of professional tennis with the vulnerability of two people learning to trust each other on and off the court. Dylan’s growth had me cheering, and Oliver’s steady support made me swoon.
This was a five-star read for me and a solid 3.5 chili peppers on the spice scale 🌶️🔥 — enough heat to make your heart race, but never overshadowing the emotional depth.
If you’re into sports romance, slow burns, or a good bet that changes everything… Game Point definitely deserves a spot on your TBR! 🎾✨
The audiobook was chefs kiss. There were so many times I started cackling (in the best ways) because the narrator said a phrase in a way I didn’t read it on the page and it was so perfect!

I’m not a tennis girl but this was still so fun to read. Absolutely loved the flow of the book.
Oliver and Dylan’s friendship was so fun to read and I loved watching them grow closer. Both of their characters had so much growth throughout the book.
Both the characters act and sound like adults who have been through a lot of things in life and even though they struggle with a few things ( very human characteristic); they know they have to come to the other side of things in their lives.
Loved that this book talked not only about the sport which in this book is Tennis but also about discrimination, judgment, anxiety, superiority, fame ,dreams, passion, mental health issues and everything else that a human deals with especially on a national or international platform.
After so long, I really enjoyed a friends to lovers plot. It was real, comfortable and didn’t seem forced or made up to make readers happy. Nothing was off-putting, strange or unusual.
Definitely recommend reading this book(sequel) if you love sports or friends to lovers or just want to relax with a book.

Game pointy by Meg Jones was a quick, light romcom to read. I had the audio version of this book and the Australian accents really brought this book to life! The accents were everything for me. It actually made the book more enjoyable IMO.
When I requested this title I didn't realize that this was a second book in a series. It is considered a stand alone but at times I felt like I was missing bits of the story. (it could have just been me though).
As far as my overall enjoyment goes, my expectations were mostly met. It was cute but nothing that was like oh wow! (It is a nice filler/ in between book). But that's what I expect when I read a romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Audio for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

This book had the potential to be really good but I found the main characters to be lacking and I could not identify with Dylan. I found her to be really obnoxious and I wanted to get the book over with.
DNF’d @ 35%.
The narrator was okay and did a good job with what they had but this just wasn’t for me.

Game Point is an absolute ace—sweet, swoony, and sizzling in all the right ways. Meg Jones serves up a pitch-perfect friends-to-lovers romance against the high-stakes backdrop of the Australian Open, and I couldn’t put it down.
Dylan’s determination to step away from tennis after yet another crushing loss felt raw and relatable, and Oliver’s tempting bet pulled me right back onto the court with her. Their dynamic as longtime friends turned coach-and-player had the perfect mix of tenderness, banter, and off-the-charts chemistry. Watching their relationship evolve while balancing the spotlight of professional sports gave the story both tension and heart.
What really makes this shine is the balance—light, funny moments and playful banter sit comfortably alongside deeper emotional beats about resilience, passion, and believing in yourself again. And when the romance finally heats up? Let’s just say it’s game, set, match.
Whether you’re a tennis fan or just love a good “friends-to-lovers with undeniable sparks” story, this book delivers. Game Point is a delightful, spicy, heartwarming win from start to finish.

I love interconnected sports romances... UGH, my favorite!
Megs’ debut Clean Point was such a hit for me, so I was beyond lucky to get the chance to ARC listen to the Game Point audio.
I was excited to dive into Dylan’s story, especially after she finally saw how awful Scotty’s dad really is. Her relationship with Oliver flowed so naturally—it was an absolute joy to experience.
Now my brain is buzzing with theories for Book 3… Will we get Inez’s story? Chloe’s? Or maybe a MMC lead this time? So many possibilities, so little time!
Huge thanks to NetGalley and HC: Avon for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Dylan is ready to quit tennis after another crushing loss, but Oliver, her charming and cheeky best friend, convinces her to take one last swing at the sport. With a high-stakes bet, sizzling tension, and a coaching twist, these two light up the court in more ways than one.
I loved Dylan’s sharp, black cat energy paired with Oliver’s green flag, dirty mouthed perfection. Their chemistry is chef’s kiss! The narration brought so much personality to both characters, especially with the accents, making this one a total win.

Ok listen… I had high hopes for this one. Am I normally a sports romance girlie? No. But tennis is one of the only sports I’ve actually played and enjoyed, so I thought this could be a win. Unfortunately, this book was a total double fault. I could not stand Dylan—she came across as whiny, brash, and unwilling to learn from her mistakes. She never thought before she spoke, and instead of growing, she just kept repeating the same patterns. I found myself endlessly frustrated while listening to the audiobook, which made it a struggle to finish.

📖 Dylan Bailey always makes it to the finals but never takes home of the win. She's ruthless on the court but always chokes up right when she needs it the most...
But when her new friend Oliver Anderson convinces her to not give up, and offers to help coach her.. she takes him up on it. Only problem? Their "friendship" seems to have a lot of sexual tension in it... But will they be able to move past it so that she can win her home country open in Australia?
📝 This was a super fun read with all the fun banter. Dylan was witty and her and Oliver had such great chemistry. I love everything tennis so this was the perfect sports romance for me. The way it was organized by sets throughout the book was so fun. I definitely need to go back and read Clean Point !!! I loved the narrators, they were perfect.

3.5/5 ⭐️
After reading Clean Point last year I was curious to see more of Dylan and Oliver. It was nice seeing this two become friends and Oliver believing so much in Dylan. Their coaching sessions were fun to read and I liked seeing Dylan’s growth. I liked how they handled the situation with him being her coach and boyfriend at the end of the book! Seeing Scottie and Dylan’s friendship bloom was really nice too and all the scenes with Nico and Scottie!
The narrators did a good job portraying Dylan and Oliver.
Thank you to NetGalley, HarperAudio Adult | Avon and Meg Jones for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

What a great book. Dylan and Oliver are the epitome of friends to lovers without making miscommunication such a central problem. The support these characters give each other is adorable. The side characters and arcs make it easy for more books to come in this world. The portrayal of living with anxiety is depicted very accurately and ways to cope with it are realistic. I look forward to more books by this author and seeing the characters in this world again. Time to go read book 1! Thank you to Netgalley and the author for this copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
