This one was very fun! I’m not much of a tennis girl, but now I do want to watch a bit more. I LIVED for the bits of sports drama! There wasn’t much, but it entertained me. Around the middle, it felt like there was a bit of a lull, but I did enjoy the story overall!
The narrators kept me intrigued the who time. I absolutely loved the accents and their shifts. It was very interesting and a big change from the audiobooks I pick up!

🎧 Audiobook narrated by Will Watt & Mary Jane Wells
✨ Initial Vibes
Hot tennis girl meets golden retriever ex-champion? Say less. Game Point is sexy, fun, and surprisingly tender, like a fizzy cocktail with an emotionally grounded twist. I listened to the audiobook, and it was exactly the vibe I needed to close out summer: sunshine, slow burn, and a healthy dose of sexual tension and self-discovery.
📖 What It’s About
Dylan Bailey is an Australian tennis star known for her black cat energy and for always coming in second. At a party, she meets Oliver Anderson, a British tennis legend turned golden retriever in human form, and they strike up an easy, teasing friendship. He’s quit playing professionally, but when he sees Dylan struggling with a mental block on the court, he bets her his actual US Open trophy that he can coach her to a win.
What follows is a deliciously slow-burn romance built on takeout dinners, movie nights, playful banter, and, eventually, one very steamy box of toys.
❤️ What I Loved
The friendship-first energy. Their bond is rooted in respect, banter, and mutual support. No insta-love, just a slow, satisfying burn.
The mental health focus. Dylan’s journey is as much about getting past her mental block as it is about learning to enjoy the life she’s worked so hard for. Oliver does more than coach her game--he helps her unclench her jaw and actually live.
The sex scenes. Smart, hot, and emotionally connected with a nod to real adult sexual agency (hello, toy box).
The narration. Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells are a perfect pair. Both voices brought their characters to life with warmth and charm. I loved switching between perspectives. (And their accent work was great!)
The cameos. If you’ve read the first book in the series, you’ll spot familiar faces. If not (like me!), you’ll still follow the story just fine.
🎾 Vibe Check
Think normal people with elite skill levels who just want to eat noodles and make out.
A sports romance that’s not about competition, it’s about connection.
Perfect for fans of slow burn, mutual pining, and emotionally safe sex.
💭 Final Thoughts
Game Point is a breezy, sexy, and emotionally intelligent romance that shows you don’t have to win everything to be happy. I laughed, I swooned, I cheered for Dylan’s growth and her orgasms. A perfect end-of-summer read (or listen).
🧠 Rating
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
(5 stars for golden retriever MMCs, emotional maturity, and sex scenes that hit.)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book had me HOOKED from page one.
Dylan Bailey is done with tennis. Burned out, tired of losing, and ready to quit. But her charming, slightly infuriating best friend Oliver makes her a bet: he’ll coach her for one final shot, and if she loses, she gets his actual US Open trophy. If she wins? Let’s just say the stakes go way beyond the court.
THE TENSION. THE SLOW BURN. THE ANGST. Meg Jones absolutely delivers. Dylan and Oliver’s chemistry is chef’s kiss—that perfect mix of bestie banter, emotional depth, and undeniable attraction.
Also? The narration is amazing. The voice actors brought so much heart and nuance to every scene. I felt everything.
Oliver is a walking green flag with just enough spice, and Dylan’s growth is so satisfying. She’s prickly, stubborn, and completely relatable. And the Australian Open setting? I felt like I was courtside.
Some of the tennis terminology was a bit off early on, and it didn’t hit quite as hard emotionally as Clean Point, but honestly? Still a total win.
If you love sports romances, best friends to lovers, and couples who actually communicate, Game Point is a WINNER.

The book was fine. There was nothing that really stood out to me. It was nice having a tennis sports romance so I did enjoy that aspect of it and that the focal point was heavily the sport. I did enjoy Dylan and Oliver, their relationship but the bits with Brooke and Avery got one every one of my last nerves. It was a good light hearted read and the narrators did a good job.

As someone who has read a lot- and I mean A LOT- os sports romances, never have I ever read a sports romance centered around Tennis.
And let me just say I was very pleasantly surprised.
Dylan and Oliver, two pro tennis players, meet one night at a party after years of circling each other's orbits just existing in the profession tennis world. What comes from this one meeting is a beautiful friendship that eventually leads to constant communication and increasingly more complicated feelings. Now months later they try to navigate this new relationship of Player and coach, and still this magnetic pull that they feel toward each other,
I found so much of this book genuinely refreshing. the fact that meg wasn't playing into tropes and instead found a way to incorporate this friends to lovers/ coach and player dynamic into their relationship making it feel fun and natural. She also did a really good job at developing the character's relationship not only with each other and the people around them, but also their relationship and their devotion to the sport of tennis.
there were so many lines they had me genuinely laughing out loud, add that into the fact that the narrators of this audiobook had accents made it 10x better.

Game Point by Meg Jones
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
I enjoyed this next installment in Meg Jones’s Game, Set, and Match series! While I didn’t enjoy Dylan and Oliver’s story as much as Scottie and Nico’s, I still had a blast reading it. I thought it was super fun that the release was timed perfectly to coincide with the US Open.
Dylan was a bit of a controversial character coming in due to how badly she treated Scottie in Clean Point. I can admit she was not my favorite character. However, I liked getting to see inside her head and learn why she is the way she is. I was happy to see her and Scottie’s friendship progress even more in this book.
The romance was on fire 🔥. Oliver and Dylan had so much chemistry, and it translated beautifully on the page. That first hookup was HOT 🥵. But I mean who can really resist a British-accented athlete 😏. The only thing I wasn’t super crazy about was how many times Dylan was referred to as a “brat.” I don’t love that term in general and felt like it was overused in this context.
I enjoyed flipping between the audiobook and my Kindle for this one. I thought the narrator’s accents were great, and it really helped me visualize the characters more than I could just reading on my own.
I am so excited for the next book in this series and can’t wait to see where it goes!
Thank you to Meg Jones, HarperAudio, Avon and Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for the advance copies! All opinions stated are my own.

This book, unfortunately, is a narrator issue for me. I am not vibing with the voices and accents used in this audiobook. So I am going to have to DNF it.

This was fun and spicy, but I really felt like it was way too long. I lost interest at ~60%, but Oliver and Dylan were a good match. Will and Mary Jane were fabulous in the audio and were quite possibly the only reason I finished.

This book had me grinning, swooning, and completely hooked from start to finish! I loved the unique tennis setting and how it added so much energy and heart to Dylan and Oliver’s story. Dylan’s journey of rediscovering her love for the sport was inspiring, and watching Oliver step in as her coach created the perfect mix of playful banter, emotional depth, and slow-burn tension.
What really made this shine for me was the dynamic between them—Dylan’s sharp, fiery edge balanced beautifully with Oliver’s patient, steady presence. Their friendship was the kind of foundation that makes a romance feel real, and when the sparks finally started to fly, it was absolutely worth the wait. Equal parts sweet, spicy, and heartfelt, this is friends-to-lovers done right.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC in exchange for my honest review—I can’t wait for everyone else to meet Dylan and Oliver!

Sports romance is big right now. I haven’t seen many tennis romances so this was a great change of pace! It’s a great vibe read. Spice, great characters with phenomenal character development, and an interesting story line. I also got some grumpy/sunshine vibes from the main characters, which I love! My only complaint is that the story seems to really gloss over a lot with the professional sports aspect, but it’s not really needed for the storyline.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrators did a good job. I did find myself a little irked by the female narrator at some points. During the spicy scenes her voice would become very high, and that just wasn’t for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Audio for this ALC! After reading Clean Point, I was so ready for Dylan’s story and loved to see Scottie and Nico as a part of this book. Dylan is trying to make her way to a championship win after years in professional tennis. Her newfound friendship with men’s player Oliver is unexpected but right for both of their careers as they both ponder what is next. Their easy banter and eventual romance was heartwarming and I was genuinely happy for 2 fictional characters. Great listen!

Thank you HarperAudio Adult and NetGalley for allowing me to listen and review this book. Definitely a 3.5/5 book the writing was great and the narrating was just as great. I just can’t give it a full 5/5 stars because I just couldn’t get into the book. I truly see why everyone loves this book and it’s really well written but I really couldn’t get into it and maybe it’s because it’s a tennis book….but I’m not sure. Sports romances are my top tier favorite types of romance books, next to cowboys that is lol…and I had never read or listen to a tennis book yet, so I figured why not! I love the strangers to friends and then friends to lovers relationship that that Dylan and Oliver had it was great. Their little bet and Oliver also as a professional tennis player wanting to help Dylan even better. I truly don’t know what it is but something just did not jive with me and this book BUT that is not to deter anyone from reading or listening to this book because really the writing and narrating are great, just not my style, unfortunately!

received an ALC from netgalley, thank you for the copy!
my first tennis book! I loved the narration by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells. very funny intro bit as well about the book being written in UK english so americans shouldn't be scared if a word is spelled a different way.
story was great and I loved the progression of dylan and oliver's relationship. they were so cute in the early stages of their friendship when they watched twilight together... true bonding activities right there.
i'm very attached to the two characters and this tennis world. i'll have to read/listen to the previous book in the game, set, and match series.

Thanks to Net Galley and Harper Audio for the audiobook of Game Point! What a fun listen. It was like a spicy Carrie Soto. The narrators took a little getting used to, but it was enjoyable from start to finish. I didn’t realize at first that this is the second in a series, but it didn’t stop me following the story. You can enjoy this as a stand alone.

Thanks to HarperAudio Adult and NetGalley for the advance listener copy! 4.5 stars! I really enjoyed this book! Dylan and Oliver were believable characters with flaws and great character development. I enjoyed the tennis and competition aspects of the book. My favorite part was that they developed a deep friendship before their intimate relationship began. I also loved their honesty with each other and their feelings. Highly recommend!

Game Point by Meg Jones is a friends-to-lovers tennis romance and oh so wonderful! It is book #2 in the Game, Set, and Match series and narration was performed by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells. Dylan has been chasing a Grand Slam trophy for years but always seems to come up just short. Oliver is recently divorced and settled in his career as a tennis pro, however he is not finding the passion for the game that he used to have. I really loved Dylan and Oliver’s friendship and connection and how their relationship develops throughout the book, on and off the court! It never felt too rushed or like insta-love, just real. I enjoyed how the author explored mental health in athletes and portrayal of women in sports and the media. The narrators really brought this book to life and did an amazing job with varying accents. I have loved both books in this series and need more ASAP!!!
Thank you to NetGalley, HarperAudio Adult, and the author for this ALC.

🎧3 🎧 This is dual narration by Will Watt & Mary Jane Wells and their voices really shine when reading the text messages between the two. I had a hard time listening to Mary Jane Wells narrating Oliver’s voice because she would drop her voice low and quiet and I had to constantly adjust my volume to hear their interactions together, (especially at the 56% mark🔥). Also her shouting took some time to get used to. It was really loud, real quick.
⭐3⭐ Sparks fly faster than a serve between tennis players Dylan Bailey and Oliver Anderson In Game Point by Meg Jones. Their instant friendship and chemistry was one of my favorite parts of the story. Dylan is a bit rough around the edges and took me a bit to get used to her personality and character. But Oliver’s adoration and devotion to helping her on and off the court won me over. Their game started with a racket and ended in a perfect match.🎾
Thanks to HarperAudio and NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

"How was l ever supposed to want anyone else again when he existed?"
This is my first tennis romance and was very happy with it. Dylan is on the path to rediscover her love of tennis. Oliver is the perfect book boyfriend with just enough charm and spice to keep my attention. As summer is coming to an end it was a fun audiobook that was lighthearted and fun to read over the weekend.
Tropes:
Sports Romance
Slow burn
Coach and Player
Friends to Lovers

I enjoyed listening to this book. Dylan shows so much growth throughout her story.
Personally, I was not a huge fan of the narrators. At one point, the female narrator full out yelled during a spicy scene, which was hard on the ears as a headphone listener.
Thank you NetGalley & Harper Audio for giving me the opportunity to listen to this audiobook!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this audio ARC.
I haven’t read the first one from this series but I definitely plan on it!
Dylan is tired. She isn’t sure how she can continue playing tennis, after all, all she does is lose. She feels like a failure, so what’s the point of continuing? Oliver has enough confidence for both of them regarding Dylan’s ability. They are long distance best friends. They support one another, but wish there was just something a little…extra.
This drew me in as soon as I started it. The attraction and tension between these two are off the charts. The banter was so good. The usage of the name “brat” could bring you to your knees.
He helps her fall back in love with tennis and they truly bring out the best in one another.
The narrators were great. Their performances were able to make me blush picturing what they were narrating.
Tropes:
