📚GAME POINT by Meg Jones
🎤Dual narration by Will Watt & Mary Jane Wells
💘 Thank you Netgalley and HarperAudio for this ALC

This was my first ever tennis romance and it was so much fun to live in this world for a bit!! I love a coach/athlete dynamic, so we get this here and a really beautiful slow burn friends to lovers with tension and also friendship! There’s a big emphasis on the friends part - and how they both came into each other’s lives at the perfect time.

Although I don’t understand tennis rules, the story did a great job of making me feel the tension and stress during big games. It was an entertaining story and I would def recommend, my only call out is felt a bit long and had a slump in the middle. The storyline of her childhood friend also fell a bit flat for me, I think it was just weird and didn’t seem to add much to the story.

Now - for the audio!!! WOW, these are talented narrators. The amount of accents this story required.. I’m shocked how great they were. It was SUCH a pleasure to listen to because it felt like such a production! There’s also some duet narration in the text message readings, but the rest of the story is told in dual. But this is one of the best duals I’ve ever read, I often forgot it was even dual. That’s super incredible and I’m so glad I got to listen to this one.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series so wanted to check this one out as well. I liked it, but not as much as the first. The couple in this story didn't grab me as much as the first. Also similar to the first book, the writing is a very slow burn as the relationship develops. Dylan is stubborn to a point she is almost her own worst enemy. Oliver is just a good guy through and through and great match for Dylan. I like a romance where the couple actually communicate their feelings rather than running and mess misunderstandings and this book does that well. A good friend to lovers' sport romance.

This book is an example of an immersive experience through the audiobook version. Sometimes it’s hard to know whether to read the print version of a book or listen to it and if it even makes a difference. On this case, the narration added depth to the story through the respective accents that are infused. The FMC is Australian and the MMC is British. They switch back and forth with those accents within the dialogue and it’s delightful.

The story also has a Spotify playlist that is mentioned at the start of each chapter and So I downloaded it and it added another fun aspect to this story. The songs giving us a “feeling” of the type of mood the author is portraying.

The story centers around Dylan and Oliver. Both tennis pro’s who meet and form a friendship. Dylan has a problem that results in advancing to the final round over and over but never achieving that illustrious win. She grows frustrated and finds herself losing one more match due to her own self-sabotage Oliver feels his career is over as a tennis pro’s and offers to coach Dylan. I loved the connection between these two and their scenes are full of tension and eventual spice. My only complaint is that there is a scene that I found a little frustrating in which supportive Oliver leaves Dylan all alone after a match because he had a panic attack and I found it out of left field for him to respond this way. I also think the book ran a little long at over 400 pages. I say that a romance should hit that 250-300
Page limit or you are overdoing it. In any case, new for me author and I highly recommend the audiobook

This really is a great series. In this book, Dylan always chokes on the last match to obtain the win. She gives Oliver a chance to coach her. Oliver has become a trusted friend. 4 stars

Many thanks to Net Galley and HarperAudio Adult for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Game Point is so freaking adorable! This was my first tennis sport romance and it did not disappoint. The way the book flowed and the slow-burn is what I love about these books.

Dylan and Oliver is what I dream to have 😍 Oliver makes Dylan a better version of herself and how to cope with mental blocks. She helps Oliver find what he truly needed to be.

“Brat” is a new favorite term. IYKYK 😉

The spice was minimal but top tier as their love unraveled together and not realizing.

The narrators were both perfect for this book!

Such a fun and cute sports romance story about tennis! This was a slow burn, with some amazingly funny banter between characters but the real star were both narrators. The way they read the story, really brought the characters to live and made the entire experience immersive. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good time with some excellent dual narrators!

Welcome to my Game Point Honest ARC Review!

4.5⭐️
Sweet and Spicy, Game Point does not disappoint! I really enjoyed getting to know the characters, watching the story unfold and reading of a romance in the world of tennis.

The plot was great as the main character battled social media, mental health in competitive sports and all the emotional weight that professional sports can bring.

If you enjoy tennis or like sports romance, this is a great addition to your TBR.

Thank you so much Net Galley and Harper Audio for sharing this ARC with me. I really enjoyed it!

Dylan has what it takes to make it to a Grand Slam final, but always chokes before she can bring home the trophy. After an injury and particularly spectacular loss, she decides it's time to retire. But Oliver is determined to help her secure that final victory.

I really enjoyed Game Point. I could really relate to Dylan because while I was never a standout athlete, I have always been competitive. There is something about competing just to compete. Don't ask me to explain it, just accept it, and know that Oliver helps Dylan find her way back to the love of competition. Oliver's persistence was my favorite part of the book. From making crazy bets with someone he just met to flying halfway across the world to journaling with a fuzzy pink notebook and unicorn pen, this guy was all in.

Having read both the ebook and audiobook, I can say that Dylan is exactly my type of girl. I'd love to be her best friend.

First, I want to thank NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
It was a lot of fun returning to Meg Jones‘ world of tennis - this time following Dylan and Oliver‘s relationship.
I really enjoyed how the relationship grew and I appreciated how the characters interacted in all facets of their lives.
I also loved the focus on mental health throughout showcasing how it affects everyone in different ways both on and off the court.
Although tennis is constantly in the story and a motivator for the characters’ actions throughout, there isn’t a lot of specific play-by-play, but it’s nice that it serves a true purpose in this sports romance as opposed to just being a job title for the characters.
The narrators, Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells, do an excellent job embodying the characters with real emotions to the situations throughout the story.
Overall, this was a fun time. I really enjoyed the banter and the relationships and I was happy to be back in this world.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Audio for this advance audiobook. The title is available nationally on Sept 9, 2025. I give this book 4.25 stars, with 5 stars across the board for the voice acting! I will listen to anything that Mary Jane Wells narrates, and this was not an exception. Superbly done by both actors in the dual POV. Sports romances are hot right now, and this is my first foray into tennis as the sports domain in the genre. I loved that for the most part, the athlete in focus is the FMC! Very rare in this sub-genre of romance. This was a super easy listen, and I will now go back and listen to the first book in the series. Very much enjoyed and do recommend.

I’ve been on a tennis kick after the US Open and Game Point by Meg Jones was the perfect read to keep the sporty vibes going!

I enjoyed Clean Point and was very interested in hearing more about Dylan’s story after we were introduced to her as Scottie’s reformed Australian adversary. Dylan is exactly the fierce competitor she was portrayed to be. A killer on the court who’s recent loses in the slam finals have messed with her confidence. Enter Oliver Anderson, a hunky British tennis pro looking to get into coaching. He and Dylan form the cutest of friendships that blossoms into attraction despite wanting to keep things professional for their coach/player dynamic. I love the bond these two formed and how apt Oliver was at providing Dylan with assistance not only with her game but with her mental health.

A few other highlights for me included:
-Oliver’s love of Twilight (he’s for the girls)
-Seeing Nico and Scottie disgustingly in love
-Dylan’s overall growth journey (we love a reformed baddie)
-The mental health and panic attack rep was beautifully handled on both Dylan and Oliver’s ends
-Scottie and Dylan’s friendship!!
-The playlist recs at the beginning of each chapter

I always love with dual POV audiobooks have two narrators and Mary Jane Wells and Will Watt brought Dylan and Oliver to life perfectly! They both put on their main character’s respective accents but also nailed the supporting characters twangs. It was easy to follow dialogue while listening because of this and it made for a delightful listening experience. Both narrators were engaging and definitely pumped up the drama!

Thank you Avon and HarperAudio for providing me with an ALC in exchange for my honest review!

Who knew tennis had so much drama? I didn’t but man I was here for it. Dylan just couldn’t catch a break the majority of the book. She was a badass tennis player but just couldn’t seem to get the BIG win. Here comes Oliver who comes into Dylan’s life and helps her become the best she could be. I loved the way their relationship developed and boy the spice was spicy! I wouldn’t have minded more of that. In the end every one has their happy ending! I will note in the trigger warnings at the beginning I couldn’t understand if the guy said “cock rash” or “car crash”. I now know it was car crash but man did I laugh! Quick read, fun characters, and narrators were good!

THIS WAS SO CUTEEEE!

Thank you so much to Harper Audio, Avon, and NetGalley for the ALC and the EARC!

This book was refreshing. It was funny. And it was so sweet!

I love how Oliver became friends with Dylan and legitimately wanted to help her and to become her friend. I love how organically their relationship came about.

I love how neither character ever gave up on eachother. They literally chased eachother from the begining to stay together.

Also, no third act break up THANK GOD!

**Review of *Game Point: A Novel***
**By Meg Jones**
**Narrated by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells**
**Reviewed for HarperAudio Adult and NetGalley**

⭐️ **Dual Narration: 5/5**
⭐️ **Story: 4/5**

Dylan Bailey is a seasoned tennis pro known for choking in the finals. After her tenth runner-up finish, she’s on the verge of walking away from the sport for good. Enter Oliver Anderson — fresh off a US Open win, and someone who’s been quietly tracking Dylan’s career. He believes in her talent and thinks he can help her break through the mental barriers holding her back, with the Australian Open in sight.

I appreciated the strong theme of sportsmanship and the insightful exploration of the psychological resilience required to compete at elite levels. Oliver’s steady support and belief in Dylan added depth to the narrative, and their romantic connection was sweetly woven into the story without overshadowing the central sports arc.

The dual narration by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells brought both characters vividly to life, adding emotional nuance and authenticity to their journeys.

**Thank you to HarperAudio Adult and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen and review.**

Game Point is an adorable friends-to-lovers romance that will have you wanting to pick up a tennis racket yourself. Dylan Bailey has been struggling with her performance on the court and facing harsh criticism in the media. One night, when she just wants to escape the pressure, she meets Oliver Anderson, and the two form an unlikely friendship that slowly blossoms into something more.

The narrators of this audiobook bring the story to life beautifully. Their accents and delivery instantly transported me into Dylan and Oliver’s world.

This is very much a slow-burn romance, but the wait is worth it as you experience the love, trust, and respect that grow within Dylan and Oliver’s friendship, coaching partnership, and eventual relationship.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Audio for the advanced listening copy.

Game Point by Meg Jones (Sept 9, 2025) Thank you, @avonbooks and @harperaudio for the free digital and audio copies of this fantastic sports romance!

Dylan Bailey is sick of coming in second place. She’s done it in 10 different grand slam events and she is thinking about putting away her racket for good. Then she runs into fellow player Oliver Anderson at a party and he makes her a bet - stay in it and try to win her home country’s Australian Open. If she wins, she’ll have her trophy. If not, Oliver will give her his US Open trophy. Over the course of the following months, Dylan and Oliver strike up an unlikely long-distance friendship as they crisscross the globe for events. And what starts as funny text messages becomes something deeply meaningful to both of them, but when Oliver steps in to coach her, they know they must keep things professional, even as the tug toward something more becomes almost unbearable.

Clean Point was my first fead of 2025 and I have been itching to read Game Point ever since - I’m thrilled to report that it is just as charming as the first! This is peak black cat/golden retriever vibes and Meg Jones develops them beautifully as individuals and as a couple. I especially loved the emphasis on friendship as the bedrock of their relationship, making the eventual romance even more rewarding. This series has quickly become one of my absolute favorites in the sports romance world, and I’m already counting down for more.

🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells do a lovely dual narration performance with excellent British and Australian accents. (11 hrs and 42 mins)

This is my first book read by this author! She did a great job. I enjoyed the tennis aspect as I’ve never read a tennis sports romance. Anxiety representation was done well. The plot was great and the spicy parts were spicy but not too much of that in relation to the size of the book! Dylan (FMC) and Oliver (mmc) had a beautiful love story! I listened to this book and the narrators were great. I will read more by this author. I would recommend this listen/read for sure!
