I was entertained through the first 40% of the audiobook and really appreciated the narration. I was a little bit curious about the sports aspect, but I’m glad it didn’t dive too deep into it. Around the midpoint, I felt the storyline started to drag a bit, and I wasn’t completely sold on their chemistry. That said, the narrator did a great job with the accent changes, which kept me engaged. Overall, it was an okay read for me.
Thank you NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult for the ALC!

I received an advanced copy of this audiobook for review. All opinions are my own! Thanks to HarperAudio Adult | Avon for the ALC! I love this series ❤️
Both narrators read this book with their WHOLE CHESTS okay? It was so much fun. Mary Jane Wells is an absolute GEM.
Dylan has made it to multiple tennis finals multiple times, but she never can quit clinch the win, always coming in second. Oliver chooses to retire while he still loves the game, and when he agrees to coach her, he works with her on not just her physical health but her mental health as well.
I adored Clean Point, so when the opportunity came for this one, I was like say less. Game Point is softer and much less drama-filled than Clean Point. Both have their merits, but with Game Point being friends to lovers with less inter-personal drama and no family drama, it definitely gave me much less anxiety! That said though, I adored Dylan and Oliver's friendship, the way they met and their back and forth and the sort of slow dawning realization that comes with a friends to lovers story. It was absolutely wonderful and I hope the series continues.
There is a good bit of description of the gameplay in this, but even I as a tennis troglodyte managed to keep up! I'd recommend this for anyone wanting a softer spicy love story. I also think it would work for readers looking to get into sports romance.
4.5/5 stars for the banter and friendship AND TWILIGHT JOKES

I stand by my original review. The audio just made me love Oliver that much more. The narrators were so good! They tackled multiple accents with ease. I adored their friendship as they slowly fell for each other.
I really loved book one so was so excited for this one. I ate this up up! The meet cute was so cute and the friendship they formed from it was amazing. Watching them build that friendship to a point of love gah 🤌 I liked the aspect of him becoming her coach. They had such a strong relationship that it worked. I loveeee when a book has one character indulging in solo time and the other over hears them 🥵 top tier stuff there. I love that Dylan and Scottie also became such great friends after what took place in book one.
I wouldn't say you absolutely have to read the first one, but it definitely helps.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so good! It is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells who did a phenomenal job. I could not stop listening.
This is the story of Aussie Dylan Bailey who is a phenomenal tennis player who has a history of choking in the finals. After yet another finals loss, she meets Oliver Anderson who is also a tennis pro. Oliver and Dtlan form a solid friendship through text and video calls that transfers seamlessly to in-person exchanges. After an accident, Dylan decides she is done with tennis. But Oliver convinces her to try again with him as her coach. The problem is their undeniable chemistry and the media's love of all things scandal.
What ensues is a beautiful story of growth, acceptance, and love. I highly recommend this!

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so I was confident that I would enjoy this one as well, and boy was I correct! What a great friends-to-lovers journey! So much pinning, tension, and chemistry! Simply delicious!
Dylan and Oliver had top tier banter that even came into the bedroom. I love nothing more than some spice and comedy mixed in one scene, especially when they may or may not have fallen off the bed, haha! I adored how much Oliver supported Dylan in her career and always had her well being in front of all else, even when she was being her bratty self and pushed back harder than she should. Even when Dylan pushed hard, Oliver took his time to process and then continued to show up for her in all the best ways.
This book was narrated by Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells and they did a great job bringing these characters to life! Will is one of my favorites and Mary Jane was great as well.
Thank you NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Audio for advanced copies of this eBook and audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the 3rd book in the series, Set Point, anticipated to be released April 2026.

My first tennis romance.
Game Point is a fun, lighthearted read about the balance of determination and self care, what it means to have the right support and, in my opinion, a great example of how the people we love can make us better simply by offering a change of perspective or a different approach.
PLOT
One thing I always like about these stories is the glimpse beyond the glitter and success.
Game Point was really good at what I understand to be the pressure professional athletes live with.
When success is more important than the own identity and needs, when the public defines a person by their stats and the perception they have of them, the conflict and plot aren’t hard to find.
And I loved how the author approached it, the themes they chose to tackle:
female friendship (especially in competitive spaces), mental health, what a healthy support system can look like, balance and how it looks different for everyone,…
CHARACTERS
I loved Dylan as FMC. She is strong headed and maybe impulsive at times. And I liked her all the more for it. She never claims to be nice and agreeable, even when people criticize her for it, nor does she hide in a victim role.
Sure, that leads to her being her own worst enemy, but it also allows for an interesting character development.
Which she got and I am grateful that the author chose to make it realistic and not change who she is at her core.
Oliver has different sides that might not be as visible at first as Dylan’s, but make for a realistically crafted, three dimensional character and an amazing MMC.
He is allowed his own path but is also mature and reflected enough to understands that Dylan’s looks different.
I’m glad that, although Oliver was allowed his space, the focus was on Dylan and her journey. And, more over, that no one was expected to step back to make space for the other - they were allowed to exist together.
In a world that is driven by competition, these two managed to incorporate it in a playful way between them while also taking a critical look at how competition with others defines each of their lives.
I’ll always love a couple that interacts on eye level and where there is support without claiming the role of a savior, where there is encouragement and a safe space for healthy growth.
One of the minor points of critique I have is that personally, some of the scenes that included innuendo, like the shower situation, felt a tad unrealistic and dragged out/exaggerated for effect.
With the reality they live in, neither of them feels like a naive character. As such, it didn’t quite align with the image I had of the characters from the rest of the book.
WRITING
The writing style was comfortable and approachable. It matched the story and I liked the tone of it, the way it allowed for Dylan and Oliver to be themselves.
At times, the pacing felt a bit off, the relationship progress dragged out for the sake of the plot and I think this book could’ve been a bit shorter without losing anything.
Didn’t stop me from wanting to find out how this ends, though.
NARRATION
I admit, I requested this partly for Will Watt and he did an amazing job, as always.
The female narration was also great, Mary Jane Wells really brought Dylan to life and captured her strong character.
Even so, at times I didn’t love the being shouted at, but have to admit that it, too, matched Dylan’s character.

Thank you to NetGalley, HarperAudio Adult and Meg Jones for an ALC of this book

THIS IS WHAT SPORTS ROMANCE IS MADE OF!
I honestly think Meg Jones has the perfect balance of sport and romance in this series and I consider it's even better because it's not one of the sports we are used to read about, at least not me, and even when I know so little of the sport she managed to make this SOOOO interesting.
I was hooked on the plot for the first book and didn't think the 2nd could be better, and I still don't think I can compare them but they are just too good in their own way.
Ohhhh how I loved to see their relationship developing from acquaintances to friends to veryyy close friends and roommates, to lovers / coach+athlete. They gave us tension, they gave us angst, they gave us slow burn and the chemistry between them? CHEF'S KISS!!!!
I do have to say even though Dylan was so stubborn and had so many things to work through, her journey and seeing how Oliver helped her to find her joy and passion while falling in love was absolutely fantastic.
AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE TWILIGHT REFERENCES, because I almost took a star off this review automatically when Oliver said he was team Jacob 😩.
To top these amazing stories, THEY HAVE THE BEST PLAYLISTS!!! I haven't stopped listening to Clean Point's playlist, loooooved the selection for this one too!!
For the most part, I liked the audiobook, although there were some parts where the narrators were waaay too emphatic or even felt like they were shouting some lines, not sure if it was because of their accents. But overall it was great.
Thank you so much to Netgalley, Harper Audio and Meg Jones for this ALC ✨

I love tennis romances and throw in the friends to lovers trope and I am in! giving us a story with a character from the first book was such a plus! The chemistry was sizzling!

CW/TW: toxic coaching, mental illness- anxiety, panic attacks
Both MCs are pro tennis players.
First time Author for me. I would go back and read/listen to book 1. I didn't read book 1 but I can see how her character was like a hard ass in book 1 when she's really just a competitive softie and hard on herself too. I love their best friends to lovers trajectory, they had cute funny banter and great tension. Such cute care taking on Olover's end as well. Dylan's inner monologues were so freaking funny, I loved them. The third party tennis drama was pretty good too. Super glad that his ex wife was not a part of the storyline.
Interconnected to book 1 Scottie/Nico and book 3 Ines/Chloe.
Audiobook narrators: Will Watt, Mary Jane Wells
Dual POV, First Person
Tropes: Sports - Tennis, Friends to Lovers, Coach x Player, Secret Relationship
Notable Microtropes: "Just one night", "beg for me", "tell me to stop"
Spice: 2/5 (Personal Scale) - 2.5 open door scenes however one of them short in length. Vanilla monogamous sexual acts. More explicit/descriptive sexual language. No kinks.
Listened at 1.75x speed.
Will also goes by Will M. Watt. Very familiar with his narrationss and one of my faves! Love his british accent.
First time listening to Mary Jane Wells and she was freaking hilarious. She had a great guy voice and I loved her expressive as hell delivery! Both had great range of other accents and character voices as well.
Thanks to HarperAudio Adult and NetGalley for providing an ALC.

This book was my first intro into tennis romance 🎾 and I loved it!! Dylan the FMC is a driven, passionate and blunt Australian tennis superstar who is going through a rough patch on the court. After a tournament she bumps into our MMC Oliver. He is a British golden retriever who is the greenest of green flags, and also a player looking to take on coaching.
What starts out as a small bet, quickly evolves into something more. The banter between these two was done so beautifulIy. The humor is no joke! I was full on laughing when listening to the audio during the twilight references.
I loved loved loved how he fell first! The open door spice was sooo good🌶️🌶️ ( I wanted more!). The mental health, burn out, and anxiety represented in this book was executed so well and with care. This is book 2 of an interconnected series, there is enough context in this book that the first doesn’t need to be read. I for one will be reading Clean Point to get more info on Scottie and Nico.
The dual audio 🎧 really brings these characters to life. Narrators Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells crushed the accents for our main and supporting characters. The delivery in chapter 25 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 perfection.
Thank you author Meg Jones, NetGalley, Avon and Harper Audio for this ARC and ALC opportunity.

Tennis romance
Friends to lovers
Dual narration - Will Watt & Mary Jane Wells
Overall this is a good book. Easy to listen to and a cute story. I liked that the FMC was the competing athlete not the MMC for a change. The spice was ok. Character development was good. Definitely a lot of emotions in this story.

It’s a sad day when I don’t enjoy a book in a series I’d been liking, but Game Point really wasn’t for me.
Starting with the romance, it was a little lackluster. I didn’t feel the connection between Dylan and Oliver. I liked their friendship, but that was about it. The moment the spice started I was taken aback because there just didn’t seem to be a buildup, it just happened.
The sport. Well I’m not a big tennis fan, but I’ve read books about sports I have no interest in and enjoyed them. But not here, I couldn’t care less if Dylan won or lost because the game just didn’t keep my interest.
I was also lucky enough to get an ALC and I thought the audiobook would make this better, but no, it was still entirely too long and drawn out. The narration was ok, but the moment the female narrator started narrating the spice I had to skip because why was there so much screaming?? And I’m not talking about little screams here and there, no she was full blown shouting in my ear. It was unnecessary and very uncomfortable.
All in all I just didn’t enjoy this, and I will probably not continue with the series.

I loved this so much! The narrators really made the story come to life and I really enjoyed the story!

Thank you to Meg Jones, NetGalley, and Harper Audio for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a cute quick romance! Friends-to-lovers isn’t my favorite trope but I loved Dylan & Oliver’s friendship. Oliver was so cute, you can tell he just wants what’s best for Dylan and he admires her professionally. I found Dylan’s character a bit challenging to get in to, I’m not exactly sure why but something about her felt off. I didn’t personally resonate with the tennis, just because I’ve never played besides high school gym class and couldn’t remember the game rules. I still think this is a good sports romance! I enjoyed Dylan & Oliver’s chemistry and their teamwork professionally. Overall this was a cute read!

There are definitely some pros and cons here. Pros included details about the sport being discussed and more focus on that than the romance, as well as overall character ARCs that were satisfying. However, this may be the first time ever I have literally skipped through the spice for being cringey at best?! Felt insta-lust because we didn't really get any true tension building. I couldn't really connect with the FMC but this may have simply been the audio experience, unfortunately I found the narrator's....ahem.....ecstacy off-putting and abrasive.
Special thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins for this Advanced Readers Copy (audiobook) in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Dylan and Oliver’s dynamic. When they initially develop their friendship, Oliver sees her desire to be better than second place and makes the bet to help push her past second-place. He is such a supportive friend and coach that cares about her as a person and a player. It’s heartwarming to see their character development.
The nuance of Dylan’s childhood friendship with Avery being twisted by Avery’s jealousy is really well developed as well.
Tropes: friends to lovers, ‘brat’, coach x player, banter, and slow burn.
Game Point is the second tennis romance in Meg Jones’ series. As with the previous book, I loved that the chapters start with songs that hint at what's going on within the book (I think this is better than the general list at the front of the book).
Thank you NetGalley, Avon, and HarperAudio for the advance audiobook (ALC), as well as the advance electronic copy (ARC)! I think the narrators did a great job of giving voice to the different POVs, especially with the accents for both main characters.

Meg Jones is the queen of friends to lovers romance!
Dylan was so prickly and Oliver was so patient. I loved these two together. From four hour FaceTime calls to becoming her coach, these two had so much banter and tension. I giggled out loud multiple times and was blushing!! Oliver believed in Dylan and it allowed her to connect with herself and watching them slowly fall for each other was actually everything to me. The black cat x golden retriever energy was everything. From the moment these two met, I knew their story was going to be so special.
🎧 the audio was SO GOOD. Will Watt (unsurprisingly) stole the show for me. Mary Jane Wells was also so perfect as Dylan. The two of them were ACTING and I loved listening to it.
Thank you Avon for the gifted copy!!

I could have listened to these narrators forever. Their accents were fantastic and had me giggling with the sass and personality!! Could not recommend the audio more!!

Yay, tennis romance enjoyers rejoice! If you're like me and seeking more sports romances where both partners are athletes, you'll enjoy this one. The tennis was well done and pretty accurate, which I think my fellow tennis lovers will appreciate. The romance was lovely, featuring a fiery female lead and a sweet main male character. I loved seeing these two grow; they learn how to support each other beautifully on and off the court! I can't wait to read more from Meg Jones!
I really enjoyed the audiobook - the narrators really breathe life into this story. It was really fun to hear the accents! I especially enjoyed Mary Jane Wells' narration.
Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this one. Both main characters were athletes but it was a nice change of pace that the FMC was the one competing and the MMC took on the support role. I could have done without the female narrator yelling during the spicy scenes but overall it was a good story.
