Oh yikes, this was not such a great ending to an already mediocre series but I had to finish it just to get closure. The chapters go like this, Fluer and Bastien fight, they sulk, the bang in 10 different ways, rinse and repeat. Oh and throw in some kidnapping, some shooting and the book is done.

Very very mediocre.

I did not like Ramona Master, she sound whiny and like she's crying all the time. Cringe. Michael on the other hand was a decent narrator.

Oh still my heart Bastien!! Penelope Sky takes her readers on an emotional and dangerous ride with this the third installment of the Fifth Republic saga, and the level of danger and mayhem is at an all time high. But through it all Fleur and Bastien's love is put to the test and they only come out stronger in the end. But hold on to your hats ladies because Bastien's brother Godric will give him a run for his money in the "who is hotter" test. Loved every minute of this audiobook and look forward to Luca's story!!

Thank you netgalley for the ALC ❤️

Ok I love this series!

Fluer and Bastien chef kisses.

Bastien is just everything ❤️ His love is loud and beautiful.

but DAMMIT can we stop kidnapping and trying to kill Fluer!!! lol

Thank god Bastien thought Fluer to fight !!!
but also that fucking chapter was sooo fucking satisfying just the way Fluer has developed throughout the series made me cry.

and Godric !!! ugh ❤️❤️ "I thought about all the women you'd saved... and it was wrong there was no one there to save yours. It was a split-second decision. I killed them all and spared her from your greatest nightmare. Nothing happened to her."

honestly I have nothing else to say it's truly an amazing series every book gets better.

Huge thank you to Penelope Sky, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to The Saint early!

This third installment in the Fifth Republic series pulled me right back into the dark, dangerous, and intoxicating world of Bastien and the high-stakes life he lives. The tension in this one was unreal. From the simmering romance to the deadly political games, I was hooked from the very first chapter.

Bastien and the heroine’s connection is as passionate and intense as ever, with loyalty and love tested in the most brutal ways. The pacing is sharp, the stakes feel impossibly high, and the emotional moments hit hard. I loved seeing the heroine’s strength shine as she refuses to run from danger and stands her ground, even in the shadow of Bastien’s enemies.

The audiobook narration was fantastic. Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo brought the characters to life with emotion, grit, and that perfect touch of heat and danger. Their performances made the story even more immersive. I could practically feel Paris buzzing with tension beneath the surface.

Dark, thrilling, and romantic in a way that keeps you on edge, The Saint is a gripping listen for fans of dangerous love stories and power-driven plots. I’m already itching to see where the Fifth Republic takes us next.

Oh, The Saint was pure adrenaline. I thought The Carver raised the stakes but book three? Electric. The tension never lets up and the dynamic between the MMC and FMC just keeps getting better. It’s more intense, more layered. There’s danger lurking around every corner and the MMC is still as obsessed and protective as ever (not that I’m complaining).

This series by Penelope Sky is seriously addictive and I’ll definitely be back for book four.

Thanks so much for the ALC. These thoughts are entirely my own.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Saint is the gripping third installment in Penelope Sky’s series, and it kept me hooked from start to finish. The tension, danger, and slow-burn chemistry were perfectly balanced, making this one hard to pause. The plot continues to raise the stakes, with twists that had me eager to see how everything would unfold.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narration brought the characters and emotions to life in a way that enhanced the story even more. The voices fit the characters well, and the pacing kept me fully engaged.
While it’s best to read the series in order for full impact, this book delivers plenty of intrigue, romance, and intensity on its own. A great continuation for fans of Penelope Sky’s signature blend of dark romance and suspense.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC!

Duet narration - Ramona Master & Michael Ferraiuolo

Good narration.

Book three Fifth Republic Series

Bastian and Fleur story was emotional roller coaster. One moment they are happy and getting it on and two minutes later they are fighting. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the book but it felt a bit like whiplash.

This trilogy is captivating. So much happens to these characters.

Overall a good listen, the narration is performed well. I feel if it had been duet narration it would have given it further depth.

The Saint is book 3 in the Fifth Republic Series and it picks up right where The Carver left off. I like how Fleur and Bastien’s story is unfolding. Bastien is such an alpha male and I love how protective and in love with Fleur he is. I also love how open and honest he is with her. I appreciate the fact that we’re learning more about the Fifth Republic and Bastien’s past (I even shed a few tears). I absolutely devoured this book!! You know how some series start strong and then start to trail off…. well, this is NOT one of those series. I feel like this series gets better with each book. I listened to the audiobook and both of the narrators did a great job. 🖤

I would like to thank Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for giving me an ARC (which did not sway my opinions or review).

I love this series and this book is no exception. The progression of Fleur and Bastien’s story gets better and better in each book and the drama was drama-ing in the book. This book allowed us to see more of Bastien’s background and see into his relationship with his brother in more detail. I also liked the conclusion on Fleur’s marriage and that it ended in the best possible way given the circumstances of the previous books. Overall, it was just a great installment in the series.
The narrators did a great job with the characters and have definitely grown on me throughout the series.
