This is not a typical novel. I loved it because it is quirky, funny, and absolutely delectable. Simple’s earlier novel, Where’d You Go Bernadette? Is one of my favorites.

Adora is a woman who has decided to live her life among other women, in a COVEN. She is a philosopher involved in a complex relationship with an extremely wealthy family. She is a mother, of a very interesting daughter. She is a former comedy writer with a secret. But, all of this is disrupted when she meets a very mysterious man!

I loved Adora’s adventures, as well as the glimpse back into her past. Semple is a wonderful writer. I certainly learned a great deal about philosophy from her. I actually answered a Jeopardy question about a philosopher, a first.

This is a totally original and delightful novel. The heroine is brilliant, eccentric and lovable. I highly recommend it for people looking for a novel that is fun and not formulaic.

Thank you Netgalley for this novel.
