Black Majors: Baseball is a brief picture book about the Negro Baseball League and some of its players. I'd say this is very introductory, but still a fun resource. The illustrations were cute snd showed a lot of movement, as well.

They played baseball for several years before being brought into MLB and even longer before they were recognized in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The legendary players highlighted here are Pitcher Satchel Paige, Catcher/Power Hitter Josh Gibson, Center Fielder James Bell, Power hitter/first baseman Buck Leonard, and Fast running outfielder Monte Irvin. All the stuff that a baseball nerd wants to know is here in an illustrated format. Great stuff!
The illustrations by Davian Chester are complex, imaginative, and fun.
Well suited for reading alone or WITH someone of any age, including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school, waiting room, or your local public library!
