Georgianna has always loved girls, and falls for one spirited Kitty Bennet when she comes to visit her home at Pemberley, leading to love confessions, a desire to run away from their obstacles, and a happy ending where they could be themselves.

My first concern with this novel was the characters. Honestly, if felt like the author picked these two characters from a much beloved classic so she wouldn't have to develop them or spend time trying to flesh them out. Further, thin characters led for a thinner romance. The majority of their friendship happened off screen, which was severely disappointing, where I wasn't convinced that these two characters could or would feel such attachments to one another. The quick progression of Georgianna's feelings, and the quicker progression of their relationship left me feeling unattached and not particularly caring the obstacles that landed in their way. I skimmed over the last three chapters because I just could not care further about their romance. Even further, if a book is compared to Bridgerton, I want something with longing, something strong and full of yearning! Show me that the characters love each other! Make me care about them!

I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend this book to a reader. There's something really charming about sapphic retellings of classic novels and I wouldn't want to sway someone away. However, there are stronger lgbtq retellings of Austen's works. I would recommend Gabe Cole Novoa's Most Ardently, Molly Greeley's The Heiress: The Revelations of Anne de Bourgh, and Lindz McLeod's The Unlikely Pursuit of Mary Bennett before this title.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the Arc.
