There are some great ideas in this book, I don’t cook, but my husband does, and I can’t wait for him to make some of them for me.
It’s a great idea to have them all in one book!

Here are more of our favorite recipes from Tiktok, the social media sensation. The recipes look very simple, which means that most people won't have any problems making the recipes, and for the ones with pictures, those look delicious. This would be great for people who want something more substantial for a snack or want to get their kids involved in cooking. I do wish there were more photos of the food, one for each recipe. I particularly like that there are little tips at the bottom of the recipes and that most of the recipes are no more than one page.

BOOK REVIEW: “The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook: Volume 2” by Palestrina McCaffrey
Do you love watching the viral recipes on TikTok but you have trouble remembering all of your favorites? In The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook: Volume 2 you’ll find all your favorites in one place!
Features:
🥪 75 Popular TikTok recipes
🥪 6 Chapters which include: The Essentials, Quick and Easy Bites, Make it a Meal, Bring it to a Party, International Delights, and Sweet Treats
🥪 Easy to understand directions
I was intrigued by this book! I instantly recognized about half of these recipes from TikTok! Some of my favorites are the Corn Ribs, Pasta Chips, Korean Hot Dogs, and the Dirty Soda. All of the recipes are unique, yet not super difficult to accomplish. Some actually look quite simple! I rarely find a cookbook that I’m likely to use, but I can see myself making nearly all of these recipes.
The pictures make the food look appetizing, and the directions are clear and concise. This cookbook is very well made!
I rate this book as 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.

The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook Volume Two promises to deliver 75 viral TikTok recipes, capturing the buzz of social media’s culinary trends for home cooks of all skill levels. With dishes like Whipped Lemonade, Pasta Chips, Baked Feta Pasta, and Dubai Chocolate Bars, the book aims to bring the excitement of TikTok’s For You Page (FYP) into your kitchen. However, while it has its merits, the cookbook falls short of expectations for those seeking the true essence of TikTok’s viral food scene.
One of the book’s strengths is its accessibility. The recipes come with clear, step-by-step instructions, making them approachable for beginners and seasoned cooks alike. The inclusion of vibrant color photos for nearly every dish is a nice touch, providing visual inspiration and clarity. The book’s layout is pleasant and user-friendly, which makes flipping through it an enjoyable experience.
However, the cookbook stumbles in several key areas. Most notably, it fails to capture the specific recipes that have fueled TikTok’s viral food culture. As someone who scrolls through TikTok and frequently screenshots recipes, I was disappointed to find none of the dishes that originally caught my eye on the app. For instance, while the cucumber salad (likely inspired by Logan, the “cucumber guy”) kicks off the book, it feels generic and lacks the spark of the original viral content. Even more glaring is the absence of credit to the TikTok creators who popularized these recipes. This omission feels like a missed opportunity to honor the platform’s community-driven spirit.
Additionally, the selection of recipes is underwhelming. Approximately 75% of the dishes didn’t resonate with my culinary interests, leaning heavily on trends that feel more like fleeting fads than must-try creations. While dishes like Baked Feta Pasta and Dirty Soda are included, the overall curation lacks the diversity and excitement that define TikTok’s food scene. The book feels like it’s chasing trends rather than capturing the platform’s most iconic or innovative recipes.
In conclusion, *The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook Volume Two* is a decent effort for those new to TikTok-inspired cooking, with its approachable instructions and appealing visuals. However, it falls short for avid TikTok users or those expecting a true reflection of the app’s viral recipes. The lack of creator credits and the uninspiring recipe selection make it a letdown for anyone hoping to recreate their favorite FYP moments. If you’re a casual cook looking for simple, trendy dishes, this book might suffice, but for TikTok enthusiasts, it misses the mark. 2.5 stars
