This book made me nostalgic and want to buy some colourful paper and practice origami again. I think the diagrams were simple and easy to follow. And I loved the adorable Certificate at the end.

An interesting take on a-not well known hobby. I might have to try origami now! So fun and entertaining.

I know this book is aimed at kids ages 8–12, but honestly, I had such a great time flipping through it as an adult! The instructions are clear, the projects are fun, and the designs are so satisfying to make. I especially loved the Star Box and the Masu Box, both are not only cute but also practical. Sometimes I make jewelry as gifts, these boxes would be perfect to present them in. A delightful origami guide for any age!

I have to admit, even though I don’t have kids, I have a real passion for origami. While browsing through this book, I was pleasantly surprised to realize that I already knew some of the projects included in the challenge. Who wouldn’t want to take a simple piece of paper and turn it into something adorable? The moment I downloaded the book, I sat down eagerly to give it a try.
The Ultimate Origami Challenge Kit for Kids 8–12 is designed to teach children origami through 30 unique projects, including an inflatable bunny and a flapping crane. The kit includes 90 colorful, 7x7-inch folding papers and offers step-by-step instructions, fun facts, and illustrations to accommodate different learning styles. It encourages kids to progress at their own pace, build skills, and enhance cognitive abilities such as problem-solving and spatial awareness, while fostering creativity and confidence in their origami skills.
What I appreciate about this book is that it caters to various skill levels and provides clear, step-by-step instructions. It starts with an introduction to different folds, and each project is categorized by difficulty level. You get a brief overview, helpful tips, and then detailed instructions accompanied by clear illustrations. As a beginner, I found it easy to follow, and it brought back memories of the few projects I had tackled in my youth.
The book allows you to progress as you go along, teaching you how to create a range of animals, flowers, objects, and more. There are also beautiful photos to showcase the final products. At the end, there’s even a certificate of completion for your child, which adds a fun element to the experience! Plus, the challenge checklist is thoughtfully organized, making it appealing even to adults like me.
I genuinely hope you consider getting this for your child or someone else as a gift; it’s truly a valuable skill, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the process myself. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to finish my 3D tulip!
Thank you, Zeitgeist | Z Kids, for the digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
