This book has more twists than a cork screw. It kind of starts out slow at first but once it picks up pace watch out. You will feel like you are on a roller coaster.

This is a great page turner that I couldn’t put down about a mother whose daughter returns home from university with her new fiancé. There are however two problems with this one he was her teacher when she was in school and two her has a secret history with her mother that threatens to blow her world apart. As the girl starts to wonder why her mum seems so scared and uncomfortable around him we are taken on a very dark and twisted tale of revenge and lies. Don’t miss this one!

In the beginning, the main character, Diana, seems relatable. However, I don't love the strained relationship she has with her daughter. It makes me cringe how out of touch they are with each other. The way Lizzie feels about Diana is every mother's worst nightmare. Diana says she would do anything for Lizzie, but it's evident that's not true.

The toxicity from the characters made me very uncomfortable. I found the book hard to finish. There is a lot of abuse discussed; this book should have a trigger warning.

The ending was a good conclusion. I wouldn't recommend this book unless you don't have content sensitivities, and you enjoy reading about toxic relationships.
