It has been a HOT minute since I've read a YA book. This one was super duper cute and was the perfect book to start Fall with (I know it's still August, but I'm so ready for fall.) The book follows Ellis, who is our FMC. She's a senior who is faced with not only her parents' separation but also the fact that she's leaving the city to move to a small town. (I would have cried having to move my senior year lol) She wants to study journalism at Columbia once she graduates. I thought Ellis was a very sweet character. I couldn't imagine having to go to a new school in my senior year. I really connected with her when she was trying to decide who she wanted to be and who she could be. As someone who thought I knew what I wanted for so long, I didn't realize how I was closing myself off to other opportunities. I feel like everyone experiences this at one point in their life. When Ellis moves to Bramble Falls, she is reunited with her old friend and first kiss, Cooper Barnett. They are now distant strangers (who give each other the cutest lingering looks and small smiles.) Cooper Barnett is Brambles's "good guy." He's sweet and super cute (which is like every barista I know haha.) One of the reasons why I love small-town romances is the side characters, and I really enjoyed the ones in this one. Sloane was a perfect example of this. She was so funny and witty and was a ride or die for Ellis. I will say there were some parts where I would have liked to see more detail or certain parts expanded on, but overall, I really enjoyed this cute read.

This was giving all the fall vibes, and if you like Gilmore Girls, you'll eat this one up. This book put me in the Fall mood, which is perfect because it's my favourite season. If you are looking for a cute Fall romance that is easy to follow and decently fast-paced, look no further!

Thank you to Simon and Schuster Canada for this ARC
