I enjoyed reading this book, and I found the poems to be really great but I do wish that the authors notes on the poems were actually under or after each one and not at the end of the book. Also, I think some poems referenced things that happened before I was born, so I felt a little like I was missing some context for some of thes poems.

This was a great poetry collection. The title really hooked me into the book, especially because I felt it could mean so many things. I specifically liked the one about the elevator and "My Anthropocene". The book wasn't exactly what I expected and I think I might not have been the target audience for it. I didn't understand all the poems as it was meant to be understood because I didn't have the required context regarding certain events of the 20th century. The author's note/discussion did give me a lot more context about each poem which I really appreciated. I would have preferred it more if the notes about each poem was just directly below it possibly as a footnote. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a poetry collection revolving around a selection of historical events of the 20th century.
