This was a great book. Gorgeous pictures, clear message, and sweet. I love the bilingual aspect. My one point for feedback is to better integrate the translations into the story. It's very code switch-esque and for monolingual speakers will be difficult to read.

Thank you so much to Broadleaf Books / Beaming Books and Netgalley for the Ebook to read and review.

Lina discovers a powerful message when she is on her walk collecting things with her mama. She uses that message to learn and discover so much about the world and people surrounding her on the streets of Bogatá, Columbia.

What an incredibly beautiful story, sharing that each person is unique. I loved exploring the world with Lina, she learnt so much about people in just a short day and so would a child reading this.

Not only does this book have the sweetest premise about being unique and what makes each person unique, but it also is full of Spanish language throughout; such an incredible way to help children who may be learning the language. I loved the mix of the two throughout the book and there’s a glossary at the end too.

The illustrations were perfect, they captured all the magic of the story, from seeing the graffiti art, to each individual person, sharing each persons unique qualities. A great way to continue the learning with this book is to look at the illustrations, see everything unique about each person.

I throughly enjoyed this book, from seeing what Lina’s day to day was like, to seeing what makes everyone so unique in her world. I highly recommend this book it was so beautiful, full of heart and kindness and showing that each one of us is unique and that what makes us special.

A sweet story about a girl discovering what makes her, and the people around her, unique. I loved the illustrations and art style. Each page was vibrant and captivating. I think this story is a sweet reminder for kids that each of them has a spark that sets them apart. I also appreciated the Spanish vocab woven throughout and the glossary at the end.

A beautiful story about being unique. I really enjoyed watching Lina learn ways that makes them all different. It’s like she’s on a scavenger hunt to find new unique things that people do. I think this would be a great story to be read to children to show them it’s okay to be different and whatever they do, mommy & daddy do is unique in its own way.

Thank you NetGalley & Allison Rozo for sharing this beautiful story!
