Honey and Cara are friendly towards each other, but not exactly close friends. When their spouses walk out on them to be with each other instead, a months-long affair comes to light. Feeling betrayed and angry, Honey and Cara decide to go on a much-needed vacation. Screw those cheating bastards. What’s the plan? Honey and Cara go on a road trip to take a break from the stress and mess that is their lives now. They’ll share their adventures on social media and show their exes that they’re doing fan-fucking-tastic.

So, from UFO museums and gas station stops, to animal chases, to holding hands, and to the possibility of something more. Honey and Cara have quite an adventure and grow quite close. So much so that the smiles and laughs aren’t just for the reels that their exes may or may not see, but for them. And maybe, just maybe, they are the adventure.

A must-read! There were many laugh-out-loud moments from beginning to end, and I was pleasantly surprised. I honestly thought that I might laugh once or twice, but I was wrong. I laughed way more than that and my cheeks hurt from smiling so damn much.

It wasn’t all fun and games though, because there were some serious topics where I got teary-eyed. The reflection on their marriages, the vulnerability they showed, and how they supported each other in those moments made me emotional. The relationship hit a bump in the road, got a flat tire, took a wrong turn, if you will, that I did not see coming, but I felt like it was needed. Overall, I loved it and highly recommend giving it a read. So grab some snacks and make a playlist because this was an epic adventure.

Heartfelt, emotional, and so so adorable!
I really thought this was a great story and I just love the road trip vibes.

This follows Honey and Cara, two women who are going through divorces after their spouses cheated on them.
To get out of a slump (and to make their exes jealous), Cara proposes that they go on a road trip together, from their home in Texas to the California Redwoods.
Through countless hours in a car together, shared hotel rooms, and running for their lives in the Arizona desert- they develop unexpected feelings for each other.
Things take a turn for the worst when Honey discovers that Cara knows something about their former spouses that she doesn’t.
Now they must either make amends or accept that their road trip fling was only temporary.

This was incredibly fun.
I always love a story with a traveling theme!
We get to see the main characters grow and develop so much, which is always a huge win for me.

Honey and Cara were so compatible! I was so rooting for them.
The slow burn was actually hurting me. I was desperate for them to finally get together.
When they got together? Oh so good.
When they fought? Oh so devastating.

There is an emotional aspect to this story, of course.
Given the fact that it is about cheating spouses, both main characters are on a healing journey and discuss a lot of things pertaining to their struggles and past marriages.
They are so kind and supportive to each other though. They gave each other a real shoulder to cry on and that was beautiful.
Cara’s journey was particularly special to me.
She talks about how she wanted to go on the road trip to embrace her new-found independence- something that she never had previously. I thought this was so cute and I felt so connected to her in that moment.

This was just so touching overall.
A beautiful story, beautifully written.
