This is a cute age appropriate book about self esteem. It sues child appropriate language and illustrations to provide a working framework for what makes us unique as individuals and how we can learn to love ourselves better. I think this book is very relevant and would benefit kids in the late elementary/early middle school age.

Be Yourself, Like Yourself is a MUST HAVE for all children’s collections! I will be buying several copies for my public library shelves. Be Yourself, Life Yourself is an empowering toolbox of self help habits for kids. This is both an iconic read together book for families, or a very digestible read for elementary aged students on their own. This is packed full of fun images, breaks down concepts clearly, and gives immediate action steps for the reader. Sections include: Self esteem, Exploring others who love you, bouncing back from setbacks, and more. I’ll be looking out for more from this author definitely!

This is the first children’s self-help book I’ve ever read, and it didn’t disappoint at all. Most of the content is really inspiring and so relatable for kids as they grow up and start facing those challenges in school or their teenage years. What I really liked is how the messages are easy to understand and fun to follow—it never feels like the book is lecturing you, but more like it’s helping you grow together with it.
I also loved the little lists sprinkled throughout. They’re such a nice touch, giving kids something to track and look back on whenever they’re feeling down. It makes the lessons stick in a practical, everyday way.
The illustrations deserve a shout-out too—they’re so colorful, vivid, and full of life! They make the reading experience more enjoyable and will definitely keep kids engaged (no boring pages here).

Be Yourself, Like Yourself by Eric Braun is a fun way for children to learn about self esteem, self care and growth mindset as well as reflect on these topics. The illustrations are cute and the open ended questions to help young readers reflect on the various topics. Love it!
