In the Raven, we are following Wen has lived a secluded life with her grandma in this cute cottage in the middle of the woods. There is a protection spell guarding their land. Wen is advised to never cross the protection spell boundary. Wen is very curious about what is on the outside world as she has never been allowed to leave and has never gone to town with her grandma.

One day as grandma is out on the town, Wen sees a mysterious magical light no feels compelled to follow. Wen follows it and leaves the boundary of the protection spell.

This is such a cute little webtoon, full of curiosity and whimsy. I loved the art style and the coziness. I will definitely continue the series

Thank you to NetGalley or the ARC in exchange for an honest review

This felt Rapunzel inspired right way, with Wen living in the forest never going beyond the magical barrier. The art is lovely and captures the fantasy world very well. I also liked our cast of characters. Talking animals always have a special place in my heart and Theo definitely found his place there. There were the beginnings of a found family dynamic which I love in fantasy.

I enjoyed the read but my feelings aren't particularly too strong. The worldbuilding felt thin, but that's also partly to Wen being so unfamiliar with everything. There was the reference to Jack and the Beanstalk, and I'd be curious enough to see what other might appear, but I am not necessarily wanting another sequel.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with this adventure, I am just not sure if I want to continue.

This story was super cute, even with its darker undertones. We follow two innocent characters who meet by chance and set off on an adventure together—her to save her grandmother, and him to break his curse. Their journey to find the Star Kingdom isn’t easy, especially with her being naïve about the outside world and him being bound to help anyone who asks for it. The artwork is absolutely adorable and adds so much charm to the story. I can’t wait to read the next book!

This was a cute lighthearted and suspenseful story. I liked that it took a spin on fairytales. Wen was adorable and not annoying like most characters who are confined most of their lives. It was humorous that Wen and Corliss were a bit like airheads that didn't take away from the story being told. I'm curious to know what happens next.

This was an enjoyable read that I finished very quickly. The characters were likeable and the art style cute. The book ends a bit abruptly, so I’m looking forward to the next volume.

Thank you WEBTOON Unscrolled for the digital ARC via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is such a cute story! The artwork is colorful and fun and the characters are all intriguing so far. It's a good start to a series, we are introduced to the main characters, get some of their back stories, start a major quest that is set in motion when the main characters meet and get to see some new people and places as they journey on. It's a quick read and gives you enough to get you interested in the story and the characters, so a successful first volume. This one does end on a cliffhanger which I didn't even realize was the last page so now I'll be patiently waiting to see what happens next in volume 2! Overall, it's a cute new series with interesting magic and fairytale vibes perfect for younger tween/teen readers. A very wholesome and charming read.

4.5 stars.

I feel like this series will eventually benefit from some binge reading.

The art style is lovely, the characters are likeable so far. (Theo is fabulous) And the plot does move.

However, there is a lot of world building to establish, characters to introduce (to the reader and each other). So much so that I was left wanting more.

Fun YA adventure with potential for a lot more.

Recommended.

This is such a good fairytale related GN series that starts off strong! Wen is protected by a magic barrier for most of her life and lives with her grandmother in the safety of that barrier. She longs to go outside and maybe even venture to see the ocean. One day, they rescue a boy named Corliss from starvation and shortly after, an evil Crow magician captures Wen's grandmother and leaves, sensing Wen has no magic. She leaves with Corliss helping to find her grandmother and save her, and Wen must learn a lot quickly on the road and how to help defend her newfound friends.

This was a cute and wholesome little manga that made me just want more! I will definitely be continuing this series as these characters are easy to get attached to and has a very interesting plot that I'm excited to continue on with. The artwork is also beautiful and makes it a very enjoyable experience. Overall, I would recommend giving this series a try.

Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for The ARC!

I really love the art style of this webcomic! Wen is such a loveable girl that just wants to explore the world outside the little area the stones permit her. There's so much I want to know about her grandmother, she seems to have so much lore to her story, and I hope it gets further expanded on in further volumes. Corliss and Theo are just such cutie pies as they help Wen in her adventures, as she helps Corliss with his problems. I can't wait until we know more about other characters and see more world building since There's something more sinister going on than what is clearly shown.

A nice introduction to a new fantasy graphic novel series! Since this was the first volume, we mostly spent our time being introduced to the world and characters. The art style is very charming. You can definitely tell that the adventure is just getting started, as most of the action happens at the end of the book. I’m curious to learn more about the other world and Wen’s grandma. There are hints at her grandma having a mysterious past. We as the reader are both in the dark as much as our main character. I’m also interested in learning more about the back story of the other characters. I really enjoyed that most of the characters are ones found in fairytales! If you love fairytales and their tropes I think you’ll enjoy this! I wish more went on plot wise in this book, but it is the beginning of a series. I found the ending rather abrupt. At least with my digital ARC it just ends on a final panel, leading me to wonder if there was more in the book and my copy was cut short. Typically there is an “about the author” or some sort of end pages, but this edition did not have that. I assume the page it ended on is the ending of the first volume though! I look forward to reading more!

I knew of Raven Saga from it's days on webtoon! It was one of my favorite series, and I cannot wait for the day it's continued. Seeing the panels structured for a comic was a delight to see, and you can follow the movement and scenes pretty well. Thank you so much for the opportunity to dive into such a comforting and unique story, I do intend on requesting the title for our library, as well as purchasing the volumes for myself! Raven Saga is a must read, it's characters bring such light to the story, and the dilemmas they face are clear from the start.
