I love Rebecca’s Ross’ Divine Rivals series and I was excited that this book was in that realm. This one features the Gods that are talking about in the previous series.
The sneak peak is fascinating and makes me want to read the whole thing, which I definitely will.
Audio was great and I loved the narrators.
Thank you NetGalley, Macmillan, and Ms Ross!

Absolute perfection. 11/10 no notes. I don’t want to write a full review until I’ve read the whole book, but this sampler has set the bar at an unreachable level. I will definitely be finishing this on audio when it’s out because the production and narration is the best I’ve ever experienced. I knew Rebecca would deliver but I am cooked! LFG!!!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, Saturday Books, and St. Martin's Press for this advanced copy! You can pick up Wild Reverence on September 2, 2025.
Even in just this brief snippet, I can already tell this is going to be one of the best books I've ever read and a favorite of the year. I was absolutely enraptured by Rebecca Ross's prose, world-building, magic system, and heartbreaking characters. The relationships in this story are what drive it forward, though I was also sucked in by the turmoil between gods and mortals.
Wild Reverence follows Matilda, a goddess of both Underling and Skyward, and a herald to the realms. Though her power seems humble at first, she's more than what meets the eye, and the relationships she cultivates give her even more strength as the story progresses. One such relationship is with Vincent, a mortal boy who dreams of Matilda and grows close to her in childhood. When the two meet again as adults, old feelings are rekindled, and we learn what people and gods alike are willing to sacrifice for love.
The EMOTIONS in this book, y'all. I was constantly on the verge of tears or giggling and kicking my feet. This book just OOZES romance and enchantment (much like in Divine Rivals), but Rebecca Ross's prose is even MORE gorgeous this time around. I don't want to give any spoilers for the plot, because this is a book best gone into blind, but I truly did not see some twists coming, and the stakes felt high all the way through (both from a plot and emotional standpoint).
Part of what elevated the stakes was the depth of the relationships Matilda had with multiple characters. I wasn't just attached to her and Vincent, but also the other gods and mortals she befriended. Some of these character interactions had me screaming, crying, and repeating "WHAT" and "NO" repeatedly. This is a book that aches in the best way!!
I would honestly recommend Wild Reverence to any and all fantasy romance readers. This is a book full of pining, overcoming the odds, battling fellow gods and mortals, accepting your strengths, and more. Y'all better pick it up asap on September 2 so I can scream with you over it!!

WHAT a performance!! this truly brought the story to life and rebecca is an absolute genius- to hear the lore brought to life fully encapsulated the magic, i already wanna go back!! i will be listening to the rest of the audiobook when it releases ✨

Thank you so much for the sneak peek!! This is one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and I absolutely ate this up! The performance is spectacular, and I will definitely be purchasing the full audiobook on release day!

Thank you for the ALC of Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross! I was lucky enough to read an eARC of Wild Reverence a few months ago and I loved it. It is one of my top reads for 2025.
I was so excited for the opportunity to listen to a sample of the audiobook. I do most of my rereads of books via audiobook and this sample made me so excited for the entire audiobook to be released in a few weeks. I knew I wanted to reread Wild Reverence as soon as I finished it and this audiobook is going to be the perfect way to reread it. The narrators portray the characters perfectly. I especially love the narrator for Matilda. Her narration is exactly what I imagined for Matilda when I read the book. The narrators manage to make the story even more immersive and I can't to download the complete audiobook.

Oh my goooooood okay, I wish I could name the Voice Actors/Narrators because they don't appear here or on goodreads, but damn this sneak preview of the audiobook TUGS at my heart.
I really love both of their voices and how they brought all the characters to life and god if I had the whole book I know they would have me sobbing uncontrollably.
Thank you NetGalley, Rebecca Ross, and Macmillan Audio for giving me the ALC sneak peak of Wild Reverence in exchange for my honest review.
P. S. Bade is STILL the father I wish I had ;; _ ;;

Dual narration
I received an ALC sneak peek of the audiobook. The first 18 chapters.
The narration is impeccable. The writing is captivating and interesting.
Great work building and character development.
I am looking forward to the rest of the audiobook.

As if this book couldn’t get better!! I had the immense pleasure to read Wild Reverence early already so I just knew I needed to try the audio too! Omg this was such a treat! The book is perfection and the narration is INCREDIBLE! The narrators are perfect! Exactly the way I imagined Matilda and Vincent! Can’t wait to listen to the entire thing when it’s out!

4.5 ⭐ (edits will be posted on bookstagram page closer to release date)
If this was the entire audiobook, this would absolutely be 5⭐.
I was lucky to have received the e-ARC and finished it last week. As I listened to this , the narrator for Matilda sounded exactly who I thought it she would sound like. I started to reread the book with the audiobook and it made me fall in love with the story more. When I first read this book, the pacing was a bit off for me in the beginning as I thought it started out slow, however, this fixed that issue for me. The narrators were expressive, and their efforts made the story feel more immersive. For example, the scene where she was betrayed (no specifics so it isn't spoiled) left me in the same state of shock when reading the e-arc
Thank you to NetGalley and to MacMillan Audio for this e-ARC, in exchange for my honest opinion!

I was fortunate to receive an e-ARC of Wild Reverence earlier this month, and I absolutely adored it. I was intrigued when I saw the audiobook sample was available and curious to know if the narration would provide the same level of enchantment and wistfulness I experienced when reading. I was not disappointed.
The narration is excellent and it really feels that the performance is capturing the essence of the story and the characters. I'm a sucker for a dual narration when it comes to romance stories, and I am so glad this audiobook went that direction. I will absolutely be listening to the full audiobook when it is available. Every element of the story, from the magic system to the tender romance to the minor political intrigue, exemplified Rebecca Ross's unique ability to craft a world that draws you in from the first page.

This is for the first 18 chapters of Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross. The audiobook experience has been wonderful so far. The narrator does a fantastic job conveying emotion and really brings the characters and atmosphere to life. Her performance adds depth and makes the story more engaging than it might have been on the page alone.
That said, the pacing of the story itself feels a little slow in the beginning. It takes its time building the world and characters, which can drag in places, but by the conclusion of this sneak peek audio the plot really begins to pick up and capture my attention more fully.
Overall, this is a solid start that promises even more excitement ahead. I’d definitely recommend the audiobook format for the immersive narration.

📖 Bookish Thoughts
After listening to the Sneak Peek of Wild Reverence, I’m even more excited for the full audiobook release! The narration was excellent, and I really enjoyed Hannah van der Westhuysen’s performance. This is a review of the sneak peek.

Thank you so much to Rebecca Ross, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for this audiobook preview! I was fortunate to receive an e-ARC for Wild Reference earlier this month, so I was over the moon to get the chance to listen to the audiobook too.
This is a great reading. I love Ross's prose and the audiobook does a wonderful job of capturing her effervescent language. Wild Reverence is gripping from the beginning and I love all the time we spend below with Matilda and the gods. The political intrigue is very engaging and this audiobook sneak peak leaves us on a delicious cliff hanger. With audiobooks it can sometimes be harder to keep up with a complex magic system without the guides easily flipped through in ebooks and physical books. Ross does a great job distinguished between the constellations, gods, and their domains, making the Dramatis Personae and Divine Courts guide a nice-to-have, rather than a need.
This book is just wonderful, I cannot wait to share it with others in September!

I absolutely devoured this audio. love the dual narration. this was the perfect companion to the e-book arc I got as well. thank you!!!

This little snippet just made me even more excited for this book. I’m ready to jump back into her writing!

The following is an advanced review of the Wild Reverence audiobook. Many thanks to Macmillan Audio for providing the first 18 chapters as a sneak peek on NetGalley!
Although I have not read Rebecca Ross’s other works set in this universe (Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows), I was drawn to this new release due to the strong reception of her earlier books. And I am happy to say that Wild Reverence lives up to my high expectations. The prose is elegant and finely crafted, well-suited for this story about the powerful gods of the sky and underworld, and the roles they play in the mortal realm between them. The cast of narrators brings the book to life beautifully, capturing the lyrical quality of the writing.
Although the pacing felt somewhat slow at first, this hasn’t negatively impacted my interest in the story, as it did help with the careful worldbuilding that fantasy requires. I am already invested in Matilda, the young herald of the gods, and I am eager to continue her journey across realms once the full book is released.
Expected Publication: September 2, 2025

I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t know the majority of what’s happening for most of the book but I enjoyed the ride. Also didn’t realize this was slightly a prequel for the Divine Rivals series that I loved. Matilda and Bade’s relationship was fun, the fine line between helper and enemy made their banter fun. Loved Vincent and Matilda

It is amazing that we are being given the opportunity to get a bit of a sneak peek to the first 18 chapters of this book!!
First and foremost, I love this book having already read the ARC. The audiobook is definitely enhancing the full experience. The narrators sound so perfect for the characters in this book. I am soooooo excited to get the full audiobook on release day!

The narration paired with Rebecca Ross' gorgeous prose combine to tell this beautiful and intriguing story! I have definitely been convinced to read the whole book on audio after this lovely sneak peek! The tone, pacing, and quality of the audio and narration are excellent. There is an ethereal quality that really sets up the atmosphere for this book of divine characters.
Thank you Macmillan Audio for the Sneak Peek! Can't wait to hear the rest!
