Thank you NetGalley for a audiobook sneak peak.

I’m grateful the sneak peak was 5 hours long. The narrators did a good job reading and differentiating cadences for other characters without being overt about it.

I really liked Divine Rivals so I was looking forward to this book and I’m really enjoying the world building. I love that we get to be on the godly side of things. Matilda is a great character who can travel between realms so we as readers can see how things are throughout this world. She’s also neutral enough for us to observe and not be swayed by any conflicts. I’m also glad we get Vincent’s POV occasionally, since it’s always nice to have both character’s POVs in fantasy and romance books.

Can’t wait to continue with this story!

WOW! What an absolute delight to be back in the world of the Letters of Enchantment. Truth be told, I had no idea this book was connected to the duology when I requested it, but I was so happy to put it all together. Rebecca Ross has such a beautiful way of storytelling - the haunted prose is lyrical and moving, the adventure is magical, and THE YEARNING. Breathtaking as always!!

Now the narrators - SWOON! Hannah van der Westhuysen, George Weightman, & Rebecca Norfolk were a dream. I could truly listen to them all day (and I did). Spectacular work by the entire team!

This was so beautifully written. I am sad that I only got a Sneak Peak as I need to know what happens in the second half of the book. There was much left for me to imagine. The characters had me wanting more as I listened along. I can feel that I am about to get my heart ripped out.

This was such a beautiful listen. It’s hard to put into words how well written and poetic this story was. Rebecca Ross has always had a way with words, and Wild Reverence shows this to us again and again, throughout every single chapter. The narrators did a beautiful job of bringing this to life as well, and I was stunned by how well it was done.

I felt a bit like I was reading a classic, kind of like The Odyssey. The setting is in the same world as Divine Rivals & Ruthless Vows, but set well before in a simpler time. No enchanted typewriters, just gods from two realms who rule over various aspects of the world: war, song, iron, rivers, etc. Fitting with the setting, some of the words used were the archaic wording for things, so I’d have to look those up to have a better understanding. Sometimes this can take me out of a book, but in this instance it only made the storyline deeper, richer, and more immersive. I truly felt like I was inside the story.

Our main character is Matilda, a god child who is the daughter of two gods in each of the separate realms. She encounters a young mortal Vincent when they are both children, within Vincent’s dreams and once in the mortal realm. Later once they are a bit older, Matilda is asked to bring Vincent a message from the god of Death, not knowing this message will change everything for them and the world around them.

“Forgive me, but I must kiss you now.”

Matilda and Vincent’s love story was beautiful to watch evolve. The slowest of slow burns, but seeing how they each were drawn to the other kept me continually picking this up to see what would happen next. And there’s a part with a letter from Vincent to Matilda… **swoon** just you wait.

This is a sweet, slow read with some beautiful world building. Great if you’re craving a unique setting and magic system, a sweet love story, and a diverse list of well written characters.

Thank you to Rebecca Ross, St Martin’s Press, and NetGalley for this ALC.

Lovely characters!!!! So far, the yearning in this book is unparalleled and I can’t wait to continue seeing these characters develop.

I loved Divine Rivals, and so it is no surprise I am loving the setting of this story as well. I cannot wait to keep listening/reading once I acquire past the sample!

Fantastic read! Feels very much like a standalone that I hadn’t even realized that it was in the same realm as divine rivals! I love it so far

I cannot WAIT to read the rest of this! The sneak peek of the audio was incredible! This is set a hundred years before the events of Divine Rivals and I just absolutely loved it! The book was just released on September 2nd so make sure to pick up a copy! Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for my audio ARC!!

This story is so beautiful! I loved Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows, but I think this story is my favorite in this world. Wild Reverence takes place several hundred years before Divine Rivals. We go through the goddess Matilda’s life from birth, and her story is woven with a mortal named Vincent. They met through dreams, and their relationship is beautiful. All of the relationships in this story are fascinating between the different gods.

Rebecca Ross creates such an incredible atmosphere in her stories. Sometimes beautiful and interesting writing doesn’t keep me hooked, but I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook! The audiobook was well produced and narrated. I loved the dual narration as each narrator did a great job portraying the characters. So much happens in this story! I want to stay in this book enjoying the world and spending time with the gods.

Random: I got into the song Live Well by Palace while enjoying this book, and the two will forever be tied in my mind. The song feels appropriate, and I love that listening to it will always make me think of Matilda and Vincent. ❤️

Thanks you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for a sneak peak of the audiobook! It helped me get a head start before the book released!

Thank you Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for a chance to listen to the first 18-chapters! The audiobook so far has been amazing. Getting more insight into the gods from the original Letters of Enchantment duology has so far been amazing. Of course, I cannot speak on the story as a whole though since this is incomplete but what I did listen to was spellbinding. As always, Rebecca Ross knows how to write a compelling world with equally compelling characters, also the way she sets up our main leads was CHEF'S KISS! It was actually a little bit mean to end the sneak-peak where it does, haha! Looking forward to continuing and finishing this book ASAP.

Rebecca Ross writing is so beautiful. This sneak peak makes me want to read the rest of the book. The narrator has this dream like quality to her voice that’s goes so well with the story. It’s a little confusing at first to get how the different magic and realms work. How the constellation play into what magic you have and how powerful you are. How you can steal another gods magic. But I love her books and have no doubt this will be another beautifully written story.

I immediately had to find the audiobook to continue reading. I feel this is going to be a 2025 top read, which is saying something as I have already read over 100 books and still have 3 months left.

I can't wait to finish this story!

***Sneak Peak Review***

I adored this! I know this is just the first fourth of the book but I devoured it. This is a prequel to the Letters of Enchantment series. It can be read at anytime however because it is also is considered a standalone.

Matilda is a young goddess with a secret that makes her have to grow up faster than she may have liked. I enjoyed the introduction of Vincent of Beckett through his dreams of Matilda and their serendipitous meeting.

I cannot wait to devour the rest of this book!

A great start to what I am sure will be an excellent new novel set in the world of Divine Rivals. The narration, in particular, has me eager for more of this story!

*****The sneak peek audio version of this book was phenomenal! The narrators did an amazing job of capturing the magic of the story. I loved it so much, I purchase the full version of the audio so that I can listen to the entire story. Beautiful!
Thank you so much for this audio ARC!

In this story we meet Matilda who lives in the under realm and is surrounded by gods, some of whom will kill each other to steal power. As Matilda is learning to fight and adjust to her magic, she befriends a mortal boy in their shared dreams.
Wild Reverence is a prequel, stand-alone book, set in the same world as Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows. Reading these two books prior to this story is not necessary. However, reading them first would definitely give you a greater appreciation for the mystical world Rebecca Ross has crafted for us.
Wild Reverence is beautifully written. Rebecca’s storytelling transports us with a unique magic system involving constellations, gods, humans, and three different realms. However, Rebecca keeps the world building flowing in a way that it is easy to follow. (Don’t let the character guide at the beginning of the book overwhelm you. I just used it as a reference guide as I read.)
Still, the pacing of this book is SLOW. If you are looking for non-stop action, this story might not be for you. It took me some time to get through this one. However, if you would enjoy atmospheric writing, a beautiful romance, and a story that ties into Divine Rivals, you can buy this now!
Wild Reverence’s Pub Day was yesterday!

Thank you @netgalley for this e-ARC!
Thank you @stmartinspress

To me, Rebecca Ross is the queen of poetic storytelling and lyrical prose. Whenever I pick up one of her books, I know I’ll be swept away by the sheer beauty of her writing. Wild Reverence was everything I hoped for and more. I won’t spoil a thing—just know this: you need to experience this novel for yourself.

This sneak peak has me craving the rest of the audiobook! But let's be honest I will just go get the book so I can pick up where I left off! Loved every second of this Gods book.

This is my first book by Rebecca Ross and it's so good! I love Matilda and how she is learning about her world and how to defend herself. Will give a better and full review once I finish this story. But love what I have gotten to listen to today.

I received an advance review copy audio version sneak peak. Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio, for the opportunity to listen to this book.

Once again, Rebecca Ross has a way of making everything poetic and devastatingly romantic. Wild Reverence takes us back to the world we met in Divine Rivals & Ruthless Vows, this time among the gods. I was so excited to return to this world and the story of Matilda and Vincent did not disappoint. I felt myself wanting more of their stories. I love support characters and am a big fan of Bade, god of war.

The listening experience of this book somehow made me love this story more— the casting for the audiobooks have a way of bringing the characters to life in a different way for me.

What an absolutely achingly beautiful story. This is what story telling should be; to be able to evoke such emotion and make you feel so attached to the words on the page. A story of growing up and about love and loss. Made even more beautiful by reading Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows prior; the little nods to it and the epilogue made me feel all warm inside.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An extra one for Bade ⭐

Thank you St. Martins Press and Saturday Books for the advanced copy!

I was so thankful to receive this sneak peek ALC! The first 18 chapters beautifully sets the stage for this story. The pacing is slower than I typically prefer. However, the beginning intrigued me enough to be very excited to continue to read this book. It is easily my most anticipated release of the year, I forgot this was set in the same world as the divine rivals duology, but the author subtly reminds the reader in a way that is perfection! Overall, I enjoyed this sneak peek and I am eager to continue,
