A standalone adult fantasy novel that takes place in the same world as the Letters of Enchantment series but centuries before following the young & brave herald goddess Matilda moving through the 3 different realms. Matilda’s resilience is inspiring, Vincent’s scrawled letters ignite longing, and the grief and hope that permeates their reunited world is achingly real. As Matilda soon noticed about all of the other gods/goddesses closest to her that they were feared by mortals. They received prayers fueled by worry, tension and fright but never by love or devotion. Her compassion for both mortal and immortal beings is what sets her apart from the rest. This one is easily one of my favorite reads of the year. You know it’s good when I’ve started collecting multiple editions already because I need them all. 🤭

The sneak peek ALC was perfecto - dual narration with accents that pulls you right into their time period. You’ll literally be flying through each chapter! I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the story in audiobook form.

“Let me be at your side. Not only as a goddess but as your wife.” 💗

🗞️ Marriage of convenience
✨ My wife (LOTS OF IT!) 🤭🥰

If this one isn’t already on your radar, add immediately! Trust me - you don’t want to miss out on this one. My DM is always open for when you wanna yap about it!

While this is just a sneak peek, I am obsessed with Rebecca’s writing. I was already a fan of Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows and Wild Reverence is no different. It’s written beautifully, the narrator voices are a perfect fit for the story and I will be purchasing the audiobook and physical copy immediately as today is release day. 5/5 so far!

Reviewing this on release day, because I was HOOKED through all sneak peek chapters, and I simply had to read the rest of the book before I could even begin to describe how I feel about this! Rebecca Ross created such a wonderful world in Divine Rivals, and I'm so glad we get to return to it with this book. Dreamy, achingly romantic, and obsession-worthy, Wild Reverence is definitely one of my favorite books of the year.

I really enjoyed the narration of this. Because it was a sneak peak (and the way that the book is structured), the preview showcased one narrator in particular, but I found the section that was shared to be engaging and enjoyable, with a sort of dreamy quality to the narrator reading Matilda's POV.

As far as the content goes, I really enjoyed Wild Reverence. I have previously read Divine Rivals and just wasn't hooked enough to continue on to Ruthless Vows, but after reading this, I absolutely will be. I don't think you need any previous knowledge to enjoy this as a prequel, since it takes place many years prior to the original duology and focuses on the worlds and dramas of the gods, rather than of the people living in the human world.

Matilda was an incredibly enjoyable main character, clever but far from perfect, inhuman but not as callous as most of the other gods. I wish we got a little more from the other gods, especially the skyward ones, but I also felt like the book was already pretty log and dragged a bit in the middle so I do understand why that wouldn't have been included. Overall I think this was a real step up in world building and I am excited to read the next book by this author.

It's hard to rate a book when you only get to hear the first 18 chapters. I'm not sure why? Either way, this book has promise. Gives me Belladonna vibes which I loved. Rating Act I 3 stars because who knows what's coming...

Ross delivered on the exact thing I was wanting with Wild Reverence! The story is loaded with evocative and addicting lore based world building that I simply could not get enough of! If you left the original duology feeling, like I did, that there was so much more left to explore, I am happy to report that this story fills in those gaps and makes the world as a whole feel even more rich and decadent..
.
The narration was wonderful with the nuanced choices adding to the emotive and lush story.

Audiobook Review:
This audiobook is outstanding! Its dual narration and they both do an amazing job. No notes. I love audiobooks and would've happily listened to this entire book on audio.

Book Review:
Rebecca Ross knows how to create a beautiful, rich, atmospheric setting, and she writes characters that make me feel all the feelings. Wild Reverence is a beautiful story of vulnerability, what it means to truly love someone, and the sacrifices we’re willing to make for those we care about.

Wild Reverence is a standalone novel set in the Divine Rivals world. You do not have to read Divine Rivals to enjoy this book, and vice versa. This is an adult novel, whereas the Letters of Enchantment books are YA. Ross definitely turned up the heat with this one! While the spice is not explicit, it was more than I was expecting.

We get an engaging conflict, plenty of lovable characters, and just as many easy-to-hate ones. Her writing is so moving, and no one writes love like Rebecca Ross. It's truly enchanting. You can feel how much she pours into her work, and even her careful use of vocabulary to stay true to the story is notable.

I love being back in this world. Rebecca’s writing is so beautifully immersive and her prose transports me! This is beautifully done on audio too, I only wish it was the entire story 🥲

Wow - what a tease this was!

I love listening to Fantasy books on audio, so when I saw this as a "listen now" on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance to listen to the first 18 chapters of Wild Reverence! I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the audiobook.

Now, as for the story itself, getting to be back in the world with Dacre and Enva was so exciting! I can't wait to read more about Matilda and her journey as both an Underling and Skyward. I am also so curious about Vincent and how that relationship is going to develop over the rest of the novel!

Brilliant idea to release an audio clip, I started with the audio, gobbled it up in one sitting and now on to the book via kindle. The narration was exquisite, and this was more than enough of a sneak peek to have me begging for the book. I can't wait to finish!

What an excellent audio production! I can't wait to get the chance to listen to the full thing.

Wild Reverence is set in the same universe as Divine Rivals, but long before the events of that book take place. Much longer than Divine Rivals, this book had Rebecca Ross' signature characters but with a touch of Rachel Gillig's world building. Adventurous with lush prose and storytelling, Wild Reverence is going to meet every expectation out there.

The audio production is exceptional. Multi-cast narration really helps the readers immerse into the story.

The narration was excellent. I loved this book in an ebook arc form but now I have to get the audiobook and finish it again. Thank you for the opportunity to listen to the sneak peek!

This sneak peak immediately had me hooked!! This is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. The love between Matilda and Vincent is beautiful. The strength that Matilda has, even after being underestimated all her life, is inspiring and something to admire. The character growth from her but also Bade is beautiful. She saw him as a father growing up but I felt like it wasn’t untik she released him from his salt vow that he truly saw he loved her in return. Or maybe he was just scared to. The anger I felt towards Vincent’s uncle and towards Warin was insane. The lying, backstabbing and deceit was around every corner. I loved this magic system with the stars and how to gain more stars (power) you had to kill an immortal and you gained their power. It added an extra layer of magic and quite frankly stress to the whole story. This is my top read of the year.

Immediately immersive and beautiful writing, excellent narrators. Lucky I also received the eARC because I can't wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds.

This was an excellent sneak peek - enough to get my attention and make me want to continue with the book. "Wild Reverence" is a sort-of prequel to the "Divine Rivals" duology, which I really enjoyed. I will probably continue this book on my e-reader or as a physical book because it's difficult for me to listen to fantasy novels and keep track of names and places.
