“Born in the firelit domain of the under realm, Matilda is the youngest goddess of her clan, blessed with humble messenger magic. But in a land where gods often kill each other to steal power and alliances break as quickly as they are forged, Matilda must come of age sooner than most.”

As soon as I saw Rebecca Ross’s name on this book I knew I had to have it. This book is set in the same world as Divine Rivals and is kind of a “prequel” to both that book and Ruthless Vows. While I liked Divine Rivals, I have to say, I liked Wild Reverence more.

Honestly, I wasn’t the biggest fan in the beginning. The writing style is beautiful and prose filled, but it took me a really long time to get into the actual story. It was almost like the beginning of the book was one giant prologue and I wanted the book and the main story just to start.
Once it did though, I couldn’t put it down. This is an amazing story of the love between a Goddess and a mortal man, where soulmates can meet in dreams and experience a love that transcends time and space.

The characters are so deeply developed that you feel as if you know them, you begin rooting for them as you read. While there is an element of “found family” within the story, it’s almost as if the characters become your own found family.

This is not a book that you finish. This is a book that finishes you, but in the absolute best way.

A very special Thank You to NetGalley, SMP, Saturday Books, and the author for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Although I enjoyed sneak peek, I found myself overwhelmed by how much was packed into such a short span. I haven't delved into Rebecca's other works yet, and perhaps that's where my struggle lies, missing the deeper connections and richer context that those stories could offer. Maybe I need to experience Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows first, to truly grasp the full depth of this universe although it does stand on it's own. Still, I am profoundly grateful for the eighteen chapters that left me craving more. I am eager to continue once it officially releases, though I think I'll experience DR and RV first, to appreciate the full journey.

I love the way this story dives into politics, how it explores the crushing toll of power, the agony of loss, and the relentless grip of fate. The magic, the divine beings, the Gods and Goddesses, and the threads woven from Greek mythology pulled me into a world so vivid and alive. Matilda, our fierce heroine, was instantly likeable, her journey from the very first page full of raw emotion and hope. Watching her stand tall against the shadows was truly inspiring.

Rebecca’s words are nothing short of mesmerizing. She masterfully crafts a world so intricate, so deeply immersive, that I was swept away from the very first sentence. Once I overcame the initial wave of overwhelm, I found myself utterly captivated, entwined in the tangled web of emotions and vulnerabilities her characters reveal. Rebecca’s talent for conveying raw, authentic feelings is extraordinary. No wonder she is celebrated as the Queen of Romantasy. Her voice sings through every chapter, echoing long after the story ends.

The narrators were pure perfection. Though I haven't listened to their work before, I am now eager to seek out future books narrated by them.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for this sneak peek ALC

For those of you who LOVED Divine Rivals, this one does not disappoint. It is criminal that this is only a sneak peak, le sigh. I pine lonley in the dark awaiting this one to come out on audiobook so I can finish it. Atmospheric. Magical. Immersive. Stunning.

And the narrator hits the notes of this book like it was a song written just for them to sing.

I love Rebecca Ross's writings. I enjoyed the beginning of this audiobook. The narrator has such a wonderful voice for the characters and does well differentiating between each character.

I cannot wait to finish this book!

Getting back to the world of Divine Rivals was SO much fun! Jumping right into the story and getting some more background on this world was such a great way to start this book.

This book has me completely hooked. The writing is lush and atmospheric, the characters already feel layered and important, and the worldbuilding strikes that perfect balance of magical yet real. If the rest holds up, it’s going to be unforgettable.

This is so good! I was a fan of Divine Rivals but usually don’t enjoy prequels. I’ve seen some people say the book is slow but I don’t agree. Now I have to finish the e-ARC I have.

This sneak peek really sucked me in. I was so sad once the audio finished because I just needed to know what was going to happen next. As for the narrators, the woman's voice was okay not amazing but not bad. Anytime it went to Vincent's POV I got sad because the male narrators voice took me out of the story. He sounded like a 40 year old man which was hard since the character goes between the ages of 11-26.

OH! This sneak peek has me chomping at the bit and over-the-moon excited to finish the rest of this story! Undeniably lyrical, gorgeous prose, STUNNING narration - this is shaping up to be (unsurprisingly) a 5 star read.

Sneak Peak is what this was presented as in Netgalley. It is an understatement when it comes to this book. These are a generous first 18 chapters of the book and it then lures listeners to want more with each chapter. Well done! Now I cannot wait for the rest of this novel to come out. This preview paints a world before any real action happens to Matlda or Vincent. It is a tease, not quite a sneak peak. The world building, while it feels slow, is right on point. The preview doesn't spoil the book at all. I think of it as a history of the characters. I did read Divine Rivals and it’s been months and months since I finished the duology. This world feels more luxurious since this book is about the underling gods, skyward gods, and like Matilda, gods of the Middle court. The writer creates an ambience of darkness for the world of the Underlings. I wonder if the skyward world will feel airy and light. Of course there are mortals to mix into the chaos of it all. I absolutely love the wondrous world Ross has rebuilt here in Wild Reverence. Its a journey of discovery of who one is and one’s growth. Matilda learns she can only trust herself in this dangerous world where not even her salt allies or own mother can keep her safe. There definitely is intrigue here in all courts. I feel the quiet longing building amongst Bade, Vincent, Matilda, even from Thane. Onwards to publication as soon as possible, please. This is going to be a great series and I am definitely already invested.

Thanks again NetGalley. What a great preview!

In my eyes (and ears), Rebecca Ross can do not wrong - and this extends to the narrators her team picks for her audiobooks!

Wild Reverence is going to be one of my very most favorite books ever, and I SQUEALED when I saw the sneak peek of this audio. The narrators are incredible and do Wild Reverence absolute justice.

This review is only for the sneak peek of the audio for Wild Reverence. While I can’t rate the entire book as a whole just yet, I’ can confirm I’m super excited to finish it. The audio was easy to understand and follow the story. I was on the edge of my seat and needing to know what happens next. This world and magic is so unique and Rebecca does a great job and laying down a foundation and foreshadowing.

✨NetGalley Sneak Peek Review✨

Okayyyyy, if I’m being completely honest, I almost regret getting the chance to read the first 16 chapters because now I’m absolutely hooked and desperate for more! It was getting so good, and then bam… it ended, and I have no idea when I’ll get the rest. Hopefully soon through netgalley, because I need answers.😩

I’ll admit, in the beginning (up until around chapter 10) I found myself a little confused. Rebecca Ross is such a detailed, layered writer and it’s a lot to take in at once. But that’s what makes her incredible. She’s brilliant with her words, and once things started clicking, I found myself stopping my daily routine of life and doing nothing but listening to the story. By the time I reached the end of the sneak peek, I was fully invested, sitting on the edge of my seat, and actually screamed when it cut off. 🤪

I already adore Matilda, I’m fascinated by the Divines, and I cannot wait to see how all of this unfolds. The narrators are absolutely phenomenal, Vincent’s voice actor in particular stands out, and their accents fit the story perfectly.

This sneak peek was perfect. I will definitely continue this book. I’ve had the other two books in this series on my list for a while and now after starting this one I definitely need to get those moved up further on my reading list. Truly perfection.
