I am hooked based on this sneak peak of Wild Reverence. I am enjoying the loosely tied greek mythology and magic system that is unfurling. I cannot wait to complete this story! Though the fact the FMC reminds me of Divine Rivals as there is a whole part of being a messenger/writing letters, I cannot wait to finish the story. Unfortunately I cannot say I would recommend this to others as I don't know how it concludes. It also seems that there will be another book from what I read.
Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the opportunity in exchange for an honest review.

I love Rebecca's writing and Wild Reverence was just as lyrical as her other books. I loved being immersed in this magical world. Matilda's growth throughout the book was a joy to read. She was knocked down, but got back up every time. She was fierce in her protection of those she grew to care about. Her relationship with Vincent was so sweet. He helped her realize emotions and love might make you vulnerable, but also immensely stronger. The yearning was top tier and their love was palpable. Special shoutout to Bane, because that man was a true father. After reading this book, I want to immediately dive back into Divine Rivals now that I have a better understanding of the worlds. Plus, I miss Iris and Roman. The narration was great! I loved how she added a romantic flare to Rebecca's poetic words.

I only had access to the first 18 chapters included in the sneak peak, but what a beautiful start to this magical story. Wild Reverence is the first of Rebecca Ross's books that I had the pleasure of reading. I was excited to see it offered in Audiobook and the narration was fantastic.
Full disclosure, I am absolutely obsessed with a mythology theme. Gods and Goddesses, court politics, love and trauma...yes please!
Short, spoiler free synopsis of the first 18 chapters: We meet our fmc at the hour of her birth. Born to the goddess of winter, her paternal line remains a mystery. We follow this young goddess as she grows and learns about her magic, politics of her realm, and potential threats to her existence. Between learning to defend herself if necessary, witnessing dangerous black-market dealings, and who she can and cannot trust, she learns from reading a dream scroll that a young mortal boy has been seeing her in his dreams. And so begins this romantic fantasy.
This was enchanting from the first chapter. I will continue this on audiobook when it is published, however I did go ahead and purchase a physical copy. I can already tell this is one that belongs on my shelf. Thank you Netgalley for introducing me to this story and giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts.

This was just a sample and my very first experience with a Rebecca Ross book but WOW! The narration completely blew me away. I love when a performance carries real emotion in every word and this one absolutely delivers. It’s beautifully done and I can’t wait to dive back in to hear more.
Huge thanks to NetGalley for the sneak peek!

I never wanted this book to end, I could of happily read a thousand more pages of this story and never been bored. These characters and their little found family have my heart 🥹🥹🥹
What is in the air this year?!?! These 2025 books are divine.

This was only a sample, so I feel I can give a full review. But what I have listen to was exactly what I was expecting from Rebecca Ross. Her writing style is poetic and draws you in emotionally. I loved where the story is going and can't wait to read the rest..

So this is only a sample audiobook and it is essentially Part 1 which is about 1/4 of the entire novel. I am judging only by the snippet I heard and of course the amazing narrators. There are 3 narrators that were said in the beginning but I only heard 2 of them from both POV that I listened to.
I can say that the story itself has me HOOKED. It is a bit slower to start than I had initially thought, but there is a lot to background to set up I feel that is necessary. The world and Rebecca Ross’s writing is just spectacular though and I knew that going in as a really big fan of this universe and the previous duology.
Both the narrators for Matilda and for Vincent were phenomenal. They could very well be a full cast with how they bring the story to life. I am so glad that I managed to listen to them before continuing the story in print as I want to keep those voices in my head for both our main characters.
Thank you so much and I cannot wait to finish this novel entirely because I know I will enjoy it so much until the end!

This teaser audio was a godssend! As a girl who is new to fantasy I was struggling at the beginning of the book until a friend told me about this teaser audio. It helped me understand the book and had zero issue reading the rest of the book after. HIGHLY recommend the audio. I plan to get it for a reread for sure! Very well done! 5/5 recommend.

The audio sneak peek is everything I hoped it would be! I can’t wait to hear the story in its entirety!

From the sneak peek alone, about 20% of the total book, I am reeling to finish this story!! This glimpse into Wild Reverence covers Act 1: The End Creates the Beginning.
A great introduction into our FMC Matilda. The world building was immersive and explained thoroughly through Matilda’s growing up and into her role.
I’d describe the style so far as something in the middle of Ross’ River Enchanted duology and Divine Rivals duology.
The audiobook narrators are phenomenal! The female narrator is absolutely whimsical, she’s a new favorite! Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the audio ARC!

For fans of Rebecca Ross’s other works, this book will be everything you’re hoping for and more. For newer readers, it may take a little time to settle in—her writing is lyrical, almost dreamlike, and can sometimes feel flowy or overly detailed as she builds the world around her characters. The narration is excellent and perfectly captures the atmosphere of the story.
Overall, this was such a beautiful story between a mortal and an immortal. It also serves as a great starting point for better understanding the background of the world and the elements mentioned in her other works. I think many readers will finish this love story and feel inspired to either pick up her other books or revisit them with fresh eyes.

Rating: 4 stars!
Thank you St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for this e-arc! This review is based on the audio Sneak Peak alone.
I immediately was grasped by the story and really love the set up of the magic system! I’m looking forward to further learning what power Matilda holds and the challenges that come her way because of it. The dynamics between the different gods was full of tension and I’m interested to see how that plays out. I wish we had more of Vincent at this point but I know we’ll get more of him in the rest of the story. I do struggle with the authors overall writing style as it is more lyrical/flowery than I am used to but I loved having the audio for that reason. The duel narration on the audio thus far has been great! I’m sure the full audio book will be pleasing as well. Excited for the rest and to be able to provide a full review.

Be still my heart! I LOVED this audio - - I only wish it had been the complete book instead of a sneak peek. I didn't want it to stop and then I was left wanting more of the story and the fantastic narration. I am fortunate enough to also have an ARC of the ebook so I will hop over to that to complete my read because I can't wait until pub day. But I must say I will miss the audio version because it really made me feel right at home in this story.
Thank you to NetGalley for the early peek at this audiobook - - I couldn't recommend it more. So good!

Thank you Netgalley for this preview of the audiobook! I cannot wait to get more of it! The narration fits so well with the story and has given me a jump start into my E-ARC!

Got this as an audio sneak peak on NetGalley and now I neeeeeeeed the book to be out in the world so I can finish it!!! This has the beautiful prose and sweeping love story (at least the beginnings of it so far) that made Divine Rivals one of my favorite romantasies. Easy 5 ⭐️ at this point.

Rebecca Ross strikes the page again. I really loved Divine Rivals and I was excited to step back into the world. SInce this is a sample and not the full book it's hard to fully judge, but I enjoyed the section that I listened to. The story was starting to take shape and the character had potential. I liked it enough to finish it when it's available.
"I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

I really wish this was a full ALC, I was enjoying this *so much* and am so antsy to continue the story.
I feel like the narrator did an amazing job telling the story. I feel like the pacing was great, as was the inflection used.
I am super into all of the different God’s, and I really enjoyed the way the story was written so far. It’s hard to give a rating on a book I only received a portion of, but I’m definitely excited to continue reading.

This was a fantastic ALC. The narrator did a beautiful job with the story telling.
Of course, I love the way Rebecca Ross writes.
The story is set well before the events of Divine Rivals, when the gods still lived.
This follows a young god who is from both above and below.
I wish this was a full ALC. I can’t wait to finish the story.

This review is specifically for the audiobook since it's a sample and not a complete book.
I love the dual narration! Both narrators are fantastic and I love their rich voices. It really adds to the atmosphere and ambiance of the story.
I already read this ebook ARC and it was just ok, but honestly I think I may have enjoyed it more of I had listened.

Very grateful I had the opportunity to listen to the sneak peak of Wild Reverence. The audio narration was amazing, the narrators did a great job capturing attention, and the pacing was perfect for anyone that listens at any speed. It was clear, and understandable at 1 speed, and beyond. I am so excited to continue reading this book, and will definitely enjoy it as an audiobook as soon as I can get my hands on the full thing!
