Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for a sneak peek (first 18 chapters/25%) of the Wild Reverence audiobook! I really enjoyed the narration—both narrators performance was spot on. As for the story, I am deeply entranced by this Divine Rivals prequel book—I love the book’s focus on the gods, which I found to be the best part of the DR duology. I can’t wait to see how the story continues!

The world building is out of this world! The gods and goddesses were easy to follow. I can’t wait for the rest of this book!!!!

Sneak peak chapters 1-18 review:
Reading this book felt like returning home, lyrical prose and the familiar backdrop and setting of Divine Rivalsbut experienced from Matilda a gods POV.
It’s premature for a full rating but this has the perfect setup to expand upon a world we already know and laid the ground for an epic conflict among the gods. I do want a physical copy with a family tree or map of the realms.
I need more details on Vincent and how he ties in and his role to come!!!

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the sneak peak advance listener copy of Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross.
In this sneak peak, we get a preview of Part One of Wild Reverence. I’d started reading my eARC copy and was so excited to see the sneak peak as I’m working on finishing the book. I thought the narrators were great choices - the voice for Matilda was spot on for me.
I love a fated/destined to be together romance. I love the premise of Matilda initially meeting Vincent through his dreams. Excited to see how this book concludes.

This prequel to the Letters of Enchantment duology is an absolute must-read! Dual POV Matilda, the young goddess and Vincent, the mortal boy who has nightmares and a goddess Matilda, who answers. Plus, learning more about the gods, the story is amazing. Rebecca has such a magical way of writing that it is so beautiful and emotional that the characters are lovable, real, and strong, and you feel submerged in their world. This slow burn fantasy will have you on edge between love, loss, betrayal, found family, and the courage it is unforgettable and a definite reread.
Thank you, Rebecca Ross, Netgalley, Macmillian Audio for this ARC. My review is my own

Okay so I didn't listen to the entire 18 chapters because I don't want to get hooked with only half the story available. But what I did listen so far omg im so ready for this book to come out!!

3.5 Stars
Wild Reverence is a beautifully imagined fantasy with a lyrical writing style that fans of Rebecca Ross will instantly recognize. The premise—gods, dreams, and a fated connection between a mortal and a goddess—offers a rich foundation for an epic tale. Matilda, the youngest goddess with messenger magic, and Vincent, the mortal lord of the river, are compelling characters with a unique dynamic that unfolds slowly and thoughtfully.
That said, the novel occasionally struggles under the weight of its own ambition. The pacing felt uneven, especially in the middle chapters, where the plot meandered and the prose leaned heavily on repetitive similes. While the world-building is lush, it sometimes overshadowed character development and emotional depth. There were also a few inconsistencies in terminology and execution that pulled me out of the story.
Still, Ross’s talent for crafting immersive settings and poetic language shines through. Wild Reverence may not be her strongest work, but it’s a worthwhile read for those who enjoy mythic fantasy with romantic undertones and don’t mind a slower burn.

I am so excited for the release so I can finish this! I listened to the audiobook sneak peak and really enjoyed it. The narrator is wonderful and pacing was great. I am really struggling with giving this a full review since I was only able to listen to part of the book. However, what I heard makes me think this will be even better than the Divine Rivals duology was.

Loving this audio!! Such a great sneak peek into Wild Reverence. Although I wish it was the entire book, I am so excited to continue reading on. The narration is perfection. The narrators just really bring the characters to life. This is definitely an audio I will be purchasing once released. Thank you Macmillan Audio & NetGalley for the sneak peek.

The first 18 chapters of Wild Reverence have me swooning. The voice actors are so well chosen and I cannot wait to dive into more of this story! Ross always delivers a fantastic ride into a new world and this is n exception. Part greek mythology, part Divine Rivals vibes. I am in love already.

I loved being back in the world from divine rivals. I went into this book with high hopes since I’ve loved all the books I’ve read by Rebecca Ross and she delivered! The magic is so unique and the storytelling is captivating. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! I can’t wait to read the rest of the book❤️

Loved it! I was given a chance to read the whole story and now I can not wait to listen to the whole audiobook

I cannot wait to read the rest of this story! I fell in love with the glimpse of this world in the divine rivals duology and am loving this peek behind the curtain of the Gods so far!

The first thing I was reminded of when starting this audiobook was Cate Blanchett's character in Lord of the Rings. The main narrator has the vocal cadence of Galadriel, slightly deep and smokey, with an ethereal air that felt fitting to the setting of gods and goddesses.
Though this is only a sneak peak, Wild Reverence seems to lean more towards the politics of the gods, where Divine Rivals was focused on the dramas of the world. This is not a bad thing, but it wasn't what I expected going into it. There is a list of the gods and their domains at the beginning of the book, but thankfully Ross doesn't rely on that as a way of world building, because there are a lot of them and it would be difficult to keep track otherwise.
The prose is beautiful and vivid. The characters feel distinct and emotional. I am eagerly awaiting the full book to see where this story leads.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebecca Ross for a preview ALC for Wild Reverence.
I highly enjoyed the narration and the world building of this preview. I never wanted it to end. The words leap off the page to my ears with such a melodic cadence. Part one of this novel is very strong and I look forward to continuing the story with the provided ARC. Bravo on the narration, I can't wait to see where this story goes.

I received this sneak peek of Wild Reverence from NetGalley and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
I came across this and when I looked the author up and saw the lineup it books, and the raving reviews, I had to jump on this. I figure what a wonderful way to be introduced to an author whose work I had not read before. I don’t realize I already had Divine Rivals on my TBR and because of this sneak peek of Wild Reverence I will be moving Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows the top of the list! Even though this is a stand alone, it is good to read the others to be familiar with the world (is what I am told).
Now, On to this gift for the ears. This audiobook was so beautifully narrated. The tone fit the prose just perfectly and made this a sensory joy! I cannot wait to finish this story and read along with the physical copy. I highly recommend immersing yourself in this audiobook, it couldn’t be a more perfect an accompaniment.

I loved this sneak peak. I was so disappointed it wasn’t the full book. I can’t wait to finish it. Ross always delivers the best stories.

It feels so good to be back in this world by Rebecca Ross. Vincent and Matilda have so much chemistry! The whole star crosse lovers thing really works for them. Sooo excited to see where this goes next month! Super stoked that NetGalley put the audio sample up for all! Thanks NetGalley and audio publisher! :)

Wild Reverence swept me away—I stayed up until 4 a.m. because I couldn’t put it down. Ross’s pacing and character work are perfection, and returning to the world of Divine Rivals felt both familiar and entirely new. Emotional, immersive, unforgettable—I shed tears and immediately preordered copies.
I also received a sneak peek of the audiobook, and the narrators are flawless. Between the stunning physical book and the incredible audio, this story is pure magic. Huge thanks for the ARC and ALC!

I absolutely love this story. The narrators are a perfect fit and bring Matilda and Vincent's story to life.
