First, a huge thank you to Rebecca Ross, Saturday Books, MacMillan Audio, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an early copy of Wild Reverence!

While Wild Reverence is connected to The Letters of Enchantment duology, reading Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows isn’t strictly necessary to enjoy this story—though they do provide some helpful world-building and background that enrich the reading experience. This book truly stands strong on its own and dives even deeper into the lore and magic of the world.

Matilda and Vincent are honestly one of my new favorite book couples. Their development as they learn to rely on and trust each other was perfect—I couldn’t get enough of them. Rebecca Ross has such a gift for writing intimate and tender relationships!

It was also fascinating to finally get an in-depth look into the skyward and underworld realms. Since the original duology focused on Roman and Iris in the mortal world, we didn’t get much insight into those other layers of the universe outside of what was necessary in regards to Dacre and Enva and their conflict. I will say this being a prequel, we even gain a better understanding of Enva and Dacre which was a nice touch. This book expands the world beautifully, adding rich detail and complex politics.

Another standout dynamic for me was the bond between Matilda and Bade. Their relationship was powerful, heartfelt, and beautifully written—I really loved their father/daughter relationship and how that was portrayed (and that scene towards the end had me SOBBING iykyk).

I think I cried three or four times toward the end. I really enjoyed The Letters of Enchantment, but Wild Reverence may just be one of my favorite books of all time. If you're a fan of heartfelt fantasy, deep character relationships, and rich world-building, I can’t recommend this one enough.

The audiobook narration was incredible. I was thrilled to find that it was done in duet narration, which worked beautifully given the dual POVs. The narrators did a fantastic job capturing the emotional nuances of both Matilda and Vincent—every scene felt rich, immersive, and authentic. Their performances added so much depth to an already evocative story.

God. I miss Rebecca's work so much.

I am so freaking in love with the story even if it was only a sneak peek. I am freaking excited to have the rest of the story at release date.

And I am so excited for everyone waiting for this because this did not disappoint.

This review is specifically for the first 18 chapters of the audiobook.

Wild Reverence was not a book that was on my radar. In the past, Rebecca Ross books have been hit or miss for me. I've mostly enjoyed them but they weren't 5 star reads.

I can confidently say Wild Reverence has changed that. I'm loving this audiobook so far, and I think you would be remiss to NOT listen to this story because it truly feels like it was written to be listened to. The narrator does an incredible job of bringing these characters to life.

While I know this is only the start, I'm really excited to see how Matilda and Vincent's story unfolds. This book got me to preoder an audiobook for the first time ever!

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the preview!

To say I’m obsessed would be an understatement. The story was captivating from the first chapter, and the narrators couldn’t be more perfect for these characters. I haven’t read any of the author’s previous work, but this has inspired me to do so! The writing is beautiful, and so is the world the story takes place in. I can’t wait to finish it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the sneak peak!

Wow. Wow. Wow. This narration of this book brings to live the beautiful and lyrical writing of Rebecca Ross. I’m so excited to hear the rest of this story, being left on that cliffhanger was brutal.

I loved Divine Rivals, so I was really excited to hear that there was going to be a prequel set in the same world, especially because I had been wanting more lore about the gods. The narration of this audio sneak preview really brought the lyrical prose to life (felt like I was listening to a myth being passed down from oral tradition), and I can't wait to read the rest of the book!

It’s so exciting to be back in the Letters of Enchantment world.
"Wild Reverence" is easily one of my most anticipated 2025 releases.

And damn—the audiobook? Absolutely brilliant. I just wanna hug the whole team behind that multicast narration.

At first, it was hard for me to connect with the characters, but the ending really intrigued me! I’m glad I also have the e-ARC, so I can switch right away to reading and find out how this story ends! I enjoyed the audio, the voices were pleasant, and it’s such a great way to get a taste of the book before its release.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio. All opinions are my own.

I can not wait to read the rest, I already think it’s going to be one of my fave books of the year and I will definitely have to purchase the audio to go with it!! Rebecca Ross has made another masterpiece!

Another masterpiece by Rebecca Ross. Wild Reverence had me sobbing! Matilda and Vincent's story was absolutely beautiful. I was expecting this to be third person narrative like the Divine Rivals series, but this is first-person and dual pov, and I truly have no preference, Rebecca Ross writes both narratives beautifully. And though this is a different tone of voice it still feels ethereal and elegant and has the same essence as Divine Rivals. I am in awe at how she's able to transport me into a story and draw out so much emotion. Even when we were in a slower part, I still found myself anxious at a lot of moments. I yearned to be part of this world.

I loved the characters, they had so much depth and were developed perfectly. Matilda is strong and so complex. Vincent is thoughtful and sweet. And I didn't expect to love Bade as much as I did.

The epilogue is probably the best I've ever read, it was perfect.

AUDIO:
This is exactly how I imagined Matilda to sound. The narrator is simply perfect, she does a phenomenal job to illicit emotion through her voice. The delivery, pacing, inflection, and tone of voice were all on point!

This book a simple fantasy. It was good enough, but not a lot of depth in plot or characters. If you liked Divine Rivals-you will likely love this one as well. Very similar.. I also had the ebook so was able to finish reading after listening to the first 18 chapters.

The narrators were great. I enjoyed the dual POVs

I had the pleasure of reading the arc of this story and LOVED IT! I didn’t think it could get any better - then I listened to the audio. And it got BETTER! The narrator was absolutely perfect. She is reading this story flawlessly!! This sneak peak was beautiful! I was quickly absorbed into the world and story again! I cannot wait to listen to the full audio!!

I haven't been so excited for a book in quite some time. First off, since this a sneak peak audiobook review, the narrators for this are absolutely amazing. The voices and the vibes are here. Matilda's voice actor in particular just portrays her so perfectly. I was absolutely transfixed. 10/10 experience. As for the story itself I can already tell it's going to be one of my top reads for the year. It's been a while since I've read Divine Rivals so I don't quite remember how much of the world of the Gods was revealed so having this book was such a treat. I loved navigating along with Matilda as she grows, learns and interacts with all the different gods. I can't wait to listen to the rest.
Thanks Netgalley for this sneak peak!

This audio sneak peek is a great way to dive into the book.
Why is Matilda, herald of the gods, in the dreams of a young mortal man named Vincent?
Matilda and Vincent's voices set the tone of this mythical and mysterious tale.
I can't wait to read the rest of this book!
