♾️ Truly the most beautiful book I’ve ever read and I don’t say that lightly. This is Rebecca Ross best work yet! Literally had everything that I absolutely loved— sooo much yearning, unique whimsical magic system, beautiful prose and so much more. I loved and soaked in every single word— I will never forget Matilda and Vincent and can’t wait to re-read this beautiful story over and over!

Thank you NetGalley for the audio sneak peak — highly recommend the audio, the narrators did such a fantastic job!

As a reader, what I really want is to feel something. Anything, really. Fear, sadness, joy, pain- and Wild Reverence has every emotion under the sun. I fell in love in Divine Rivals and that emotional response was brought just as quickly in her newest novel. Perfection, I have no notes.

A huge thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, and Rebecca Ross for granting me access to this sneak peek!
Rebecca Ross has such a magical way with words, and even from just this preview of Wild Reverence, I was instantly swept up in her lush, atmospheric writing. Her worldbuilding feels vivid and immersive, and the characters already hint at depth and emotion that promise to unfold beautifully in the full novel.
The narration on the audiobook is equally engaging—it perfectly matches Ross’s lyrical prose and sets the tone for what feels like an enchanting, emotional, and spellbinding journey.
I can already tell Wild Reverence is going to be a book that lingers with me, and I cannot wait to dive into the full story once it’s released.

I had a hard time getting into this one. I was just bored and wasn't invested in what was happening. The pacing seemed really slow, and I had a hard time remembering all of the characters and understating the world . I had to slow the audio down way more than I usually do and really pay attention. Maybe reading the book would have been better?

Ooooh baby, Rebecca Ross is not gonna miss with this one either!! This sample has me so HOOKED already and I cannot wait to finish listening to the rest of the audiobook (pending long Libby holds lol). The female narrator 's voice is so whimsical and matches the vibes of the book very well. But also Rebecca Ross writes really well with these types of themes in this world of Divine Rivals.
I knew this was a multi-cast narration but it took me a while to realize it was a dual narration, which was still fine! The male narrator also suits the Vincent chapters as well.
Thank you for the sneak peak ALC.

I received an audiobook sneak peek arc of Wild Reverence. All opinions are my own.

I was able to listen to the first 4 hours of this audiobook.
It was an easy listen and reminded me of the Divine Rivals duology probably because it’s in the same world but happened before the entente of Divine Rivals. The characters so far are interesting and the main FMC and MMC are young at the beginning of the book and we follow them as they grow up. From what I was able to listen to I would like to continue reading the story to see where it goes from where it ended in this sneak peek. I enjoyed the Rebecca Ross other duology so I have a feeling that I would enjoy this one as well. I gave the audiobook 3.75 stars and really enjoyed the narrators.

This was an enjoyable audio sneak peek into the world of the gods presented in the Divine Rivals series and serves as a prequel. The story surrounds Matilda, who is a lesser god who functions as a messenger. This excerpt included the first 18 chapters and offers the world building that sets the stage for what should be an exciting and action packed story. The narration was very good. I plan to read the rest of the book but would highly recommend the audio book version.

Both the writing and narration are beautifully done. The narrator’s voice fits Matilda beautifully. I like to listen at 1.25 speed and find this increase does not sound odd. The characters are immediately interesting. The plot is complex and unfolds carefully. I definitely recommend

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the eARC and also to Macmillan Audio for the sneak peak ALC 🫶

Rebecca Ross never disappoints with her lyrical prose! The writing can only be described as beautiful and emotional, adding true depth and a unique identity to the story. This is something that I have looked for since reading Divine Rivals and I’m so happy to see the consistency.

That being said, I don’t believe it’s necessary at all to read Divine Rivals prior to this book. In fact, this serves best as a true prequel in reading order. You get to establish the world of the God’s and if you have read Divine Rivals, we are familiar faces and a bit of the backstory that DR was built upon.

The love story was beautiful, the characters complex and learning their own ways in a world of Gods, monsters, mortals and trickery. I liked that we followed them from childhood to adulthood as we got to see them face the face the world and make their way back to each other time and time again. I did feel that the pace of this book was a bit slower than my usual preferred pace but I also recognize this may have been necessary to tell a story that spanned nearly an entire lifespan.

The narration in the audiobook was fantastic!! I highly recommend getting the audiobook to accompany the book. The accents and tones in the duet narration helped to really bring you into the story.

I can wait to see if Rebecca Ross will expand on this world even more, if so it will be a must-read for me!

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC and sneak peek ALC

Rebecca Ross’s writing is hauntingly, achingly beautiful, and Wild Reverence solidified for me that she is one of my favorite authors. I feel so lucky to get both the ARC and sneak peek of the audiobook for one of my most anticipated books. The narrators did an amazing job bringing this world to life, and I immediately went to purchase the whole audiobook so I could continue my dual read. I loved being back in the world of Divine Rivals again, and already know I’m going to be doing a read through of all three again in the near future.

I am so incredibly impressed by how beautiful the narration was. I didn’t think it was possible for make this book any more beautiful than it already was. I am so glad I was able to get a sneak peek at the audiobook for this, and I can’t wait to do an immersive read. It truly brought the book to life.

The opening of Wild Reverence is nothing short of spellbinding. The narration doesn’t just tell the story—it breathes life into it, weaving voice and cadence like incantation. Each chapter drips with myth and magic, a world at once otherworldly and achingly romantic. I feel as though I’ve stepped through a veil into a realm uniquely imagined, where every word gleams with wonder. I am utterly enthralled and desperate for more.

Rebecca Ross’s writing is so decadent and immersive. I love getting lost in the stunning worlds she creates with her words. This audio sneak peek of Wild Reverence was great teaser for the spectacular story that will unfold. Anxious to listen to the rest.

ARC- Wild Reverence - Sneak Peek Audiobook Chapters 1-18 (only)

First of all, I adore Rebecca Ross books! I was given an ARC audiobook for chapters 1-18. I enjoyed the story and narrators for Matilda and Vincent. It is a unique telling but because I was only given thru chapter 18, I don’t know yet how this is a prequel to Divine Rivals. So much left unanswered at this point but my audiobook archives 9/9/25 so my review is due. Thank you for this masterpiece! Ross’ words are poetry on paper and I cannot wait to read the rest.

“You hold on to her.
But who could hold on to the wind?
And better yet—who would be so foolish as to trust—to love—such a wild being?”

This is one of the most beautiful stories I have ever had the pleasure of reading! Rebecca Ross has such a way with prose that has me hooked and wanting more, but also wanting to savor the beauty of the words and story.

Matilda and Vincent have the kind of love that transcends time and the written word. I don’t think I have the ability to give this book justice in a single post. Just please take my word for it and give it a try! 🤍

4.5 ⭐

Thank you Netgalley for an advanced sneak peek listener copy in exchange for an honest review! I will definitely be purchasing the full audiobook for myself when able to, this is multicast narration. If you loved Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows you will probably love this book that takes place in the same world! The narrators did an excellent job. I just love this world.
