I was so disappointed in this book. I had such high hopes after divine rivals duology. This book fell really flat for me. Everything about it was so underdeveloped. Rebecca Ross has done romance so well in the past and this one felt like it just got going and then nothing. The world had potential but ultimately just kept droning on in a super chaotic way. It seemed a lot lot Greek mythology. If I hadn't known it was a prequel to Divine rivals, I wouldn't have even picked up on that. Sad I didn't love it. Im choosing not to share on socials.

I immensely enjoyed this sneak peek!! The Narration was great and easy to listen to, I was immediately hooked. Can't wait to read the rest of the book once I get my hands on a copy!

This teaser has me hooked and I cannot wait to dive into the rest of the story. In regards to the narration, I didn’t enjoy the male narrator’s voice as much as the female narrator. I will likely read the book rather than listen based on this.

What a treat to hear 18 chapters a little early, any hesitance I had about this book was put to rest, Rebecca Ross delivers a beautifully crafted story that has a different tone from the previous book and yet both still complement each other. With in these chapters you feel the importance of this story and we get a deeper look into the mythology we see in the background of Divine Rivals. I can’t wait to continue with the story.

Just as amazing as reading it in my head. Such an amazing story. I am just sad that it was just a sample! Off I go to buy the full version!

Absolutely phenomenal! I went in a little nervous that Wild Reverence might not live up to the magic of the original Letters of Enchantment duology, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Rebecca Ross delivers her signature lyrical, poetic prose, and I loved how this one carried a slightly more mature, adult tone than the original series. A stunning addition to her world.

This book is heavy, romantic, beautifully written and I want to scream about it to everyone. I’m so glad to be back in this world and the narration for the audiobook is just perfection.

I loved diving back into the world of Divine Rivals. It felt familiar but also reads like a retelling adjacent to Greek mythology. It's slow with lush prose and magical worldbuilding. I liked having both Matilda's and Vincent's POV, though there hasn't been much of Vincent's yet in this preview. The audiobook narrators are great. I'm intrigued and can't wait to continue reading!

Ok I now officially love everything Rebecca Ross writes. I thought Divine Rivals/Ruthless Vows was beautiful, but Wild Reverence was so poetic and gorgeous it blew me away. I don’t think this is for everyone, but if you love mythology or any stories about gods and humans intertwined lives, this book does it about the best I’ve read. Almost 600 pages and I wish it were longer!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced release copy in exchange for a honest review.

Rebecca Ross does it again! While I didn't get to finish the entire book because the audio was only the first chapters, I am DYING to read the rest and have the book ready to finish!

I love her lyrical writing, beautiful prose, and ability to write a love story. I care so deeply for each and every character, and Matilda is no exception. I cannot WAIT to read the way this one ends.

This sneak peek was fantastic and such a tease 🤣 but I can't wait to finish this story. I have my physical copy, but also hoping to get my hands on the full audiobook as well bc I really enjoyed the narrators.

AMAZING, the narrator was awesome. Already read the full book and it was incredible, Rebecca Ross never misses. This is going to become a comfort read of mine for sure. 🥰

This is my first Rebecca Ross book, so I listened to a sample of this audiobook (18 chapters) before Divine Rivals or Ruthless Vows. Based on suggestions of readers familiar with her work, I plan to go back and read the duology before jumping back into Wild Reverence. But based on the first 18 chapters, I can tell that I may end up loving her work and this world.

The prose and world building are dense in the beginning of this book. I luckily have a physical copy (my local Indie had signed copies), so I could do some immersive reading and also refer to the lists of characters and gods at the beginning. This was hugely helpful, and perhaps a reason to pick up the physical book instead of audio. But the narration is very good--clear with good cadence. Sometimes it was difficult to distinguish between different characters but that didn't bother me.

I loved the prose and tone of this book. It's beautifully written with a kind of sweeping solemnity fit for a story of the gods and the set up of an epic romance. It has similar vibes as Our Infinite Fates by Laura Stevens or Peaches & Honey by R. Raeta, Maybe even Madeline Miller. I look forward to finishing this book and I love that it's a standalone. I hope she can stick the landing she's set up here.

Wow, this was a beautiful book. I had a great time. The author's writing is incredibly beautiful and very flowery. Usually super flowery writing doesn't work for me but I just love this world that it ended up working for me this time.

I do think I enjoyed Divine Rivals more in the end but it was close! The slow burn between Vincent and Matilda gripped me from the very beginning and I was just begging for their happy ending. That ending was beautiful! Definitely almost brought me to tears.

Highly recommend. Even if you haven't read Divine Rivals yet.

I expected to love this and wasn't disappointed! This was a generous sneak peek into Rebecca's latest book in the world of Divine Rivals. The writing was once again so lyrical and beautiful. The narrator was fantastic and did such an amazing job with all the characters. Can't wait to finish the rest of the book!

I really liked the narrators of this book and think they made the story intriguing. I liked the portrayal of gods in this story and thought the way the interact with the world is so interesting.

I think the narrator is great and did a wonderful job. However, the story itself felt very slow paced and almost too detailed to the point where I couldn’t bring myself to focus. I just didn’t feel immersed in the world, as I would have expected with such good narration.

This is a DNF for now.

I adored the authors other two books in this realm and already know that this one will even fly past my love for those ones!
The dual narration is amazing, with each voice fitting the character perfectly. The female narration is so ethereal and fitting for a goddess. This sneak peek left me going immediately to grab both audiobook and physical copies!
Ross’s writing is always so lyrical and I am that this book is giving us a peek into the world before Divine Rivals. There are so many familiar names of gods mentioned in the others - I am glad that we get this peek into the Skywards and Underlings! Matilda is already a favorite ❤️

I’m DEVASTATED that it’s only 18 chapters! But fortunately for me, I finished this one right before the archive date and it’s already out in the world. Rebecca Ross is an incredible author and has the ability to draw anyone in. Her writing style is so beautiful and emotional. It’s been a bit since I had read the Devine Rivals duo but it was easy to get back into that world. I felt that the pacing and character development were exactly right. Can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy!!
