I’ve enjoyed every story I’ve read by this talented author and this bodyguard romance is no exception. The heroine is Ivy Danforth. She’s been brought up by her father after her mother’s untimely death, details of which are included in the story so I don’t want to share here - enough to say it was a tragic situation. Her father is a Colonel and very protective of Ivy. However, Ivy wants a taste of freedom, a chance to get out from under her father’s protective eye and has taken the summer off to travel through Australia, working her way around.

She’s working in a bar, unaware that Dean, the attractive bartender, is actually Seth Rodrigo, someone who was in the Special Forces and is now working undercover to keep an eye on her for her father. When she witnesses a shooting, she and Seth are placed under witness protection - together, alone, fighting their mutual attraction and trying to survive! What will happen when she discovers his connection to her Dad? Will they give in to their attraction? Do they stand a chance of having a HEA together?

This is a suspense filled, humorous and steamy romance, a real page-turner that is a quick and engaging read. Ivy is a somewhat naive heroine, whilst Seth is a strong, alpha with a heart of gold. At times I wasn’t quite sure who was out to get Ivy - there are so many potential enemies around her, thank goodness Seth is there to protect her!

I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

This was a quick read in where Ivy is living her life for the summer under her own rules. She doesn't realize the guy she wants is the one hired by her father to protect her.
When they witness something and are put into protective custody things get hot. When the truth comes out trouble ensues.
It is a fun story .

I've been wanting to read this Zodiac series for a while and happy when the chance came up to review this book by Amy. It was one that I'd had my eye on when it was released. It's a great and easy read taking place in Australia as Ivy Danforth and her bestie set off to sow their wild oats 4 hours from home working in a bar before starting work in the real world after college. What Ivy doesn't know is that the hot bouncer she eyeballs every night of her shift has been hired by her overprotective father the Colonel. Seth feels like he owes the Colonel, so aside from running a very successful security business in Sydney, he's doing this as a favor for Col. Danforth.

When Ivy and Seth (who goes by the name Dean) in the book witness a crime, they're taken into protective custody by the police until the person at large can be found. They're housed in a hotel room alone, police only coming to bring food and a briefing. Ivy is crushing on Seth in the worst way and part of her list while she's off on this 4 month fun trip is to have her card punched. Her father is obnoxiously overprotective and the poor girl never had a chance. She really likes Seth and things heat up between them, only to have Seth deep freeze her after one brush of their lips.

He wants to tell her the truth, but stays with the Colonel's order NOT to tell Ivy who he is and why he's there, even though it goes against his better judgment. Ivy could not have groveled any lower to this man to even touch her and I really felt for her and it just ticked me off that Seth was that stupid and careless. Sure he cared, he cared about his can getting skinned by her father. She's 23 not 12.
Sigh. When the all clear is sounded and they go there separate ways things are said and done that well... maybe a little tough to swallow. It made me laugh that maybe Seth had a conscience after all but still.... meh! I'd have tossed him out with the trash. I'd help Ivy do it.

But fear not, that is not the end!! Because the end gets even more twisted and interesting.

3.5 stars
