This book is the 2nd book in the series about witch sisters. We met Brye as the very superficial sister in book 1. She's still recovering from a warlock attack that left her very scarred. As someone used to using her looks to help her get what she wants, this has been an adjustment. To be honest, I really didn't like Brye. She came off as very spoiled, and mean.

Josh grew up with Brye. They've been best friends forever, and due to a misunderstanding thought the other never wanted more. Nothing could be further from the truth. Josh tries to be a good friend, tries to help her move on from the attack and still see she has worth. Brye fights him at every turn.

One day a stranger shows up and Josh knows something is wrong. The strangers turns out to be a leader of a warlock clan, intent on forcing her to join.

At times it was a struggle rooting for these two to figure it out. I'm glad I stuck it out. Brye does redeem herself. I would definitely continue reading the series.
