Each book in this series has been amazing, but this was my favorite by far! It was riveting the entire way. Full of suspense and the cause of my lack of sleep. For a medieval book with a lot of surprises and deception, this series is a must read. I highly recommend reading it in order. Can’t wait for the next installment! Provided by NetGalley.

The Ciphers of Muirwood Covenant of Muirwood Book 2 By Jeff Wheeler
402 Pages
Publisher: 47North
Release Date: September 15, 2015
Fiction, Sci Fi, Fantasy, Action, Adventure, Magic
This story picks up with Maia on her journey. She meets her grandmother and learns how to use her magic. She also finds out Feint isn’t who he said he was. When her father is captured, she frees him with conditions. Unsurprising, he reneges the conditions of his release causing Maia to return to her kingdom.
This is another long story, the characters are more developed than the first book, and it is written in the third person point of view. Maia is intelligent and well educated during a time when women were suppressed – couldn’t read or write. The book ends suddenly leaving readers wondering to Maia’s fate. If you like fantasy adventures, you would like this series.

This book is full of emotions and alot was going on. But it dragged for me until about 1/2 way through the book. Princess maia was banished from her dad, the King. So she went to live at Muirwood Abby. It is where good and magic all starts. Maia is training to be a cipher along with other girls and some of the glrls like her but she is being bullied by one girl. They learn to read, which is a no no for women. Maia learns she has a destiny and is to fulfill it but will she be able to once her dad finds her? Plus Maia's husband shows up but only a couple people know of the marriage and her father won't be happy about that.

I LOVED this book. The review is long overdue. I was so happy when the publisher sent me the physical book for review. The cover is beautiful and the story is compelling. It's the kind of book you just can't put down.
The princess, Maia, is a powerful young woman, a role model for girls and young adults to follow. What I loved most about this book was how strong Maia was and how her character developed as time went on. She became more independent and, pardon my words so close to Invanka Trump's, was a power for good. With books like Twilight out in print and so popular, I'm so happy a book like this has been published; it almost negates the negative, powerless female protagonists that dominate the world of YA (though this book is an adult).

This was a good book in this series.I have read a few of his books now and this did not disappoint me at all.Full of a host of characters who were very good.Really absorbing read .Looking forward to th a next.
