Somehow I ended up in a Cedar Mill Press rabbit hole and I stumbled across this Romantasy Cocktail book and how cute is it!! I love recipe books and romantasy so this captured my interest immediately. This would be so cute for gatherings, girls nights, book clubs, etc!
Some of the recipes felt a little too advanced for me personally but there were many to choose from so there are options for beginners to pros. They also offer pitcher recipes (great for gatherings) and zero proof recipes. I love a good mixed drink but the zero-proof section was great too - especially if you have guests who can't/don't drink during gatherings. :)
So many of the drink names and descriptions were so funny and right on trend - it would be super fun to flip through while hanging out! If you read through the descriptions above the recipes they are definitely entertaining.
If I passed by this at a HomeGoods or Marshalls while browsing I would definitely consider this for myself or as a gift for a friend. Funny, cute, fun recipes!

Romantasy Cocktails by Jassy Davis is a super fun collection of cocktails and mocktails perfect for romantasy fans. I could see this being a huge hit for book clubs!
I loved the welcome intro. It made me feel like my bookshelf was making inside jokes about what fun cocktail I could try next.
The Essentials pages list out ideal glass ware to use, how to make different syrups, & how to layer or smoke a drink. I have never smoked a drink so I found this part especially helpful. I REALLY liked that the storage suggestions for the syrups and timeframe to keep them.
I laughed at several of the cocktail names and loved the term "coven-sized" to make large batches of some of the cocktails! Most of the ingredients appeared to be easy to find (I need to find that Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee liquor).
Overall, this is a super fun collection of cocktails and mocktails to jazz up book club, date night in, or something to unwind with while you read your next romantasy!
Thank you to NetGalley & Cider Mill Press for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thankyou to netgalley for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. As a huge romantasy girl the second i saw this I was so intrigued. My husband and I love doing cocktail nights and this has given us so many ideas to try. The recipes are easily laid out and there is a section at the beginning that showed how to make your own syrups which was super helpful. I would 100% recommend and I think it would also be easy to make these into mocktails for a non-alcoholic night

I cannot properly express my adoration for this cocktail book.
As an avid reader of romantasy, this book is not just directly catering to me, it is objectively hilarious and on-the-nose. The descriptions of each of the drinks' inspirations deftly navigate common tropes with a dollop of humor ("Feeling Territorial: the cocktail voted most likely to growl"), with names ranging from "Slow Burn" to "Fated Mates" to "Shadow Daddy". There are sections for batch cocktails, in case you're a member of a coven book club, and a non-alcoholic mocktail section for those of us who still want excellent tasting drinks without the side effects (for which I give the author a huge, heartfelt thanks; sometimes you just need a really delicious drink that's as thoughtful as a specialty cocktail but don't want the requisite alcohol).
The ingredients are, largely, easy-to-find, as well, which has been an issue for cocktail books for me in the past. There are still some more specialty liqueurs that people likely won't have sitting around their liquor cabinet or bar cart, but I was very pleased to see that, on the whole, I've heard of everything listed in this book, even if it may take minor sourcing. (That's the only reason why this doesn't get the full five stars from me, but it's a very, very minor thing.)
Paired with gorgeous illustrations, this cocktail recipe book is a must-have for anyone who loves a tongue-in-cheek approach to life, especially if you're a fan of the romantasy genre. The way I (metaphorically) ran to preorder as I looked through the cocktails would have been comical if someone else had been present at the time (or, you know, it wasn't a digital process; the sentiment stands).
I am so excited to get my hands on this gorgeous book, and, of course, make a drink or two. Or five.
So many thanks to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for the digital ARC of this book!
