It started well. I love the diverse backgrounds of the three main characters; and their unique personalities, but the dialogue quickly became tedious. The characters constantly bickered among themselves and with others. Indignation was constant. There is an interesting contrast in that some concepts are overexplained, while important background details are left out. Characters and timelines changed without notice, and grammatical errors were abundant. In all fairness, this was an ARC copy so it may have gotten cleaned up in the final version. However, the copy I read ended abruptly, leading me to believe there were plans for a sequel. I slogged through wearisome dialogue hoping for redemption in its resolution, only to find that the story doesn’t have an ending. It’s unfortunate because it had so much potential for great character development of three young adults from three very different backgrounds. Disappointing.
