What did I just listen to?! I did not hit pause since I started this book at 8 am when I started working. This story was amazing. I loved the plot (and the twists). It wasn't your normal PNR - there were a lot of thriller/suspense elements that had me on the edge of my seat to hear what happens next. The fact that things went so far out of Cordelia's control, and fast, because she's female...that it pulled me even more into the story and got me attached to her as a character. I wanted what was best for her, even when made to do things she didn't want to do. The fact that she had to constantly figure out who she could trust - including Bishop, and to figure out how to play the game to get her and her aunt away from the pack safely - it's a lot for anyone. I really enjoyed how stubborn she was as well, that she was trying to fight fate and what her father had planned for her even when it seemed impossible. This was an amazing book and I can't wait to see what happens next!!!!!

WOW! This is quickly became one of my favorite Romantasy of the year and there has been a lot of great ones!

When Cordelia, her mother a witch and a father unknown, is taken from her home by force, she soon finds out that her Father, Silas, is the Alpha of a werewolf pack. Bishop, a werewolf who is her father's right handman, might be the only one who can save her. But where do his loyalties really lay?

I loved this story. I love when the details draw you into a story and you can picture it like a movie. Being wolves, they talk about scent a lot, and for whatever reason, I felt that gave me another sense to help bring me in.

Thank you Netgalley, Kaylee Archer, and Macmillian Audio for this advanced audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I listen to this in a day. It had the perfect amount of spice, humor and suspense to keep my entertained.

I’m hooked.
I don’t know why, but this lowkey gave me Discovery of Witches vibes mixed with… The Wolf King / Outlander type vibes. Such a fun fast paced read— I literally didn’t have any breathing room. The stakes were always high & the plot… I was fr thrown into the dryer on high.

The plot was just so good. SO MUCH (Pack?) POLITICAL INTRIGUE, you fr can’t trust anyone. The twists & turns, I was SICCCK!!!! 🎢
Even the emotional damage was high, I felt every betrayal in my heart & every reveal had me gasping— I really couldn’t catch a break. Although, like DoW, I would LOVE to see more demons at play. Not only demons… I believe my new fave is Anne.
I hope to see more of her in the sequel, which we got a lil taste of at the end… I’m fienin’ now lol.

Cordelia was such a logical— cool, calm, collected until she’s not FMC. I really hope to explore more spells & see what she can really do 👀
Bishop was just— Alpha, but I love the way he is around her. Letting her come into her role a lil as well. King of gaslighting lowkey lmfao, but a patient one.
I just know he’s hiding more secrets 👹

Overall, this was such a fun time. I literally was tuned in w/o any breaks or stops. Polly Edsell did a good job, but I have to admit I wish we had a duet. I feel like it would just really elevate the experience!!

3.75⭐️ I ended up enjoying this book more than I had originally anticipated. I loved the paranormal, Victorian era vibes and the book had me at arranged marriage, rivals to lovers. I’m not a huge insta-love girly but something about Bishop and Cordelia’s relationship was sweet, almost cozy. The pacing was fast and I loved the more action packed scenes the most. I read this book in tandem with the audio and I really enjoyed both. My only complaint was that I don’t feel like this book was as immersive as it could have been. I had a harder time picturing the scenes and characters. I thought maybe it was just me and the fact I wad listening to the audio but when I switched to the e-back it still wasn’t as immersive as I would have liked it to be. I loved the ending and cannot wait for the second book!

Thanks to Macmillan Audio for the gifted copy!

Absolutely LOVED listening to WITCH OF THE WOLVES as narrated by Polly Edsell. I crushed it in a day.

Cordelia finds out that in addition to being a powerful witch, she’s also the daughter of an Alpha wolf when she’s taken by her father’s Pack and put in an arranged marriage / mateship with her abductor.

WITCH OF THE WOLVES is just a super fun, easy, escapist Romantasy that will leave you wanting more. (So like, thankfully it’s the start of a series). The world building here is simple and easy to understand, but there are both witch and werewolf politics that are GOOD and move the plot forward well. I also loved that this was in a Victorian setting. The romance between Cordelia and Bishop is just FUN and I was giddy as they fell for each other and loved when they got a lil spicy. They just work so well together. I’m a huge fan of this Pack and can’t wait to see what happens in book 2!

Add to your TBR if you liked THE WOLF KING, love an escapist Romantasy read, or are looking for a good Witch Week audio!
