I am absolutely always going to eat up a book where the MCs do a bit of self discovery. I had a great time following goth girl Kirsty and Jasper. It was a fun paranormal romance although I wasn’t a huge fan of Jasper. I did end up really enjoying the way this story wrapped up. Plus the spice was definitely a fun bonus!

I think the narrator did a great job with this story and all the fun cozy mystery elements.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this early!

It’s a perfect way to kick off the fall season.

This book is pure cozy-spooky-season fun with just the right amount of spice. We meet Kirsty, a mystery author who built her career faking psychic abilities, and Jasper, a producer who’s literally haunted by his college roommate’s ghost (who, by the way, has a hilarious obsession with Judge Judy). What starts as a fake-it-’til-you-make-it ghost busting gig quickly spirals into real paranormal chaos and real chemistry.
I loved the mix of humor, romance, and mystery. Kirsty’s double life as an author vs. “psychic” was such a fun detail, and the ghostly twist at the end sealed it for me. The romance was sweet and steamy, though I did notice Jasper came on a little strong at times. Still, the opposites-attract dynamic worked, and their banter had me smiling.
If you’re looking for a quick, quirky fall read with fake psychics, real ghosts, and a love story that sneaks up on you, Ghost of a Chance is the perfect pick.
