Beth and Cate are identical twin sisters, but Beth has always felt she was second best out of the two siblings.. Both are married, but Cate is the one who has what Beth would love to have, and that is children. Beth's husband has recently decided he doesn't want to go through IVF any more, and in fact has met someone else. Beth is devastated.
Beth has been on a holiday with Cate and her family, and now they are returning home. A sudden change in plans means that Cate travels in one car with her husband and two older children, and Beth travels with Cates youngest child to give Cate a break. Then the accident happens. Cate, her husband and two children are killed in the accident, leaving Beth with the baby. Beth wonders if she can take over her sisters life and child and get away with it, a life she has always wanted. Her decision leads to secrets and lies that Beth never dreamed of, and discoveries how little she actually knew of her sisters life.
The guilt, deceit, and tension in this book make for a gripping read, a roller coaster plot where I didn't know what was coming next. Highly recommended.

‘The Twin Sister’ by Yvette Davies is ‘unputdownable’. It is such a masterfully-crafted psychological thriller.
