A horrific story about wild unknown beasts and learning how to survive against them. This was a well developed story with likable characters or at least relatable. It has been compared to Stephen King type stories but I would disagree in totality and say this was a bit more action than SK books, with battle, violence and strategy playing a big part of the story. It was scary as far as horror books go, more like a fear the werewolf or Cujo type scary rather than spiritual.
Overall a good read, and having timed it for Halloween it was pretty fitting.

Ben McKelvie thinks his life is going great when he moves to Barcroft with his fiancée. Then, he discovers that his new neighbor is a crazy cat lady. And, then, his fiancée up and leaves him. And his dog is brutally killed. And then his life REALLY goes to hell.

THE BEAST OF BARCROFT is a fast-paced and fun story with memorable characters and a pretty cool monster. Oh, did I forget the whole "monster" thing? My bad!

I had a lot of fun with this one. Give it a read and I think you will, too.
