Menagerie was rather captivating, especially the mythology part of it. Even though I prefer my urban fantasy much more fun and with some hot romance. No fun and no romance here, but I am curious to know what happens next.

I recently bought a new kindle after my old one broke. For some reason I was unable to download this title from the cloud onto my kindle, therefore I will be unable to review this title. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused

My interests have changed since being sent this book. At this time I won't be reading or reviewing this title. Thank you.

A review was published on Goodreads and amazon, however for the purposes of feedback and title support in netgalley I enjoyed this book.

This book gripped my attention and never let go. I'm so happy I was allowed an e-arc of this from harlequin since it made reading faster with both it and the audio I purchased from audible. I'm also very happy that I have a copy of the second book to read asap.

Here is my spoiler free review of Menagerie by Rachel Vincent.

Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I never got into the narration and the plot seemed sort of murky to me? It was weird, but definitely not in a good way.

This was one of those books that appealed to me on a crazy level and the entire time that it was being marketed around, I knew that I had to read it. I ended up getting an advanced reader copy of the book, but because of life and other books, it took me forever to get around to it. With the release of Spectacle looming in the horizon (it's now been released) I knew I needed to get on this book and get it read.
As much as the book appealed to me, at the same time, I wasn't sure what to expect from it. After reading the Shifters series years ago, I knew that Rachel Vincent was great at weaving tales of creatures and worlds a little bit different than our own but I was nervous that my expectations wouldn't be met and I would end up being let down.
Menagerie met all of my expectations and then some. This book was absolutely amazing and I couldn't stop reading it. I've been in a sort of reading funk since I had my baby and this was only the second book I've read in almost two months. It definitely held my attention and I couldn't get enough of it. The characters were so interesting and the entire story just continuously made you more and more curious to find out what the heck was going on and who people really were underneath their facades.
The menagerie setting was extremely intriguing and made for a very unique story. I have never read anything similar to Menagerie and I loved that about it. I absolutely cannot wait to read Spectacle and find out what happens next!
