An excellent third installment in McDonough's trilogy examining Germany under Hitler. The author skillfully transitions from his previous macro views of German society to a more in depth look at the policy and mobilization that created the infrastructure for perhaps the greatest tragedy in human history. A brilliant look at the experience of the Holocaust through the eyes of perpetrator and victim alike. Highly accessible and thoroughly erudite - this is an excellent contribution to the vast scholarship on this horrific moment in history.
