After her family goes missing in the Arctic Aurora sets off on a journey to find them and her own courage.

This was just a fun little read perfect for younger kids to remind them to appreciate the knowledge passed onto them from those that came before them and to trust in themselves. Well, many of Aurora's lessons come from her parents and grandmother there is a small sidetrack with a polar bear family that will definitely appeal to kiddos, but I think it does an excellent job of teaching children that humans are not their only teachers. One of those wonderfully sneaky lessons that kids absorb because they don't even realize it's a lesson!

The art is truly gorgeous as well. I loved finding all of the hidden creatures in the Aurora's lights!

Definitely recommend for younger kiddos, not just as a story to encourage them to believe in themselves but a very simple introduction to the people of the Arctic.

Stunning book! I loved the illustrations they were adorable! Most importantly, I love having representation from many different cultures in children's libraries. I will definitely be picking this one up to add to my collection.

This was a very good blend of a well told story and illustrations that supported the tone of the book. I would recommend this for a school librarian to purchase.

It was so easy to give this book 5 stars. It’s beautiful with so much depth. I love Aurora as a character and appreciate how much we get to know of her in such a short amount of time: she is strong, values her family, and is incredibly smart—I learned a lot through the way she recalled past lessons to help her respond to present challenges. And the illustrations matched the text so well, creating a breathtaking landscape.
