I truly love how this devotional is set up; it’s simple, approachable, and perfect for anyone newer in their faith or looking for a low-lift daily devotional.

Each week begins on Sunday with a main lesson. The devotional starts with a Scripture passage from one of the Gospels paired with a personal story; this really reminded me of a Sunday sermon. The rest of the week, each day is a quote and a reflection question that are easy to reflect on throughout the day. On Saturday, the week closes with a Bible verse, and each week wraps up with a prayer.

I really like how this devotional doesn’t feel too heavy, but it still covers all the important parts I love: the word of God, reflection questions, prayer, and space to connect with God. It’s perfect for people of all ages and spiritual levels.

That said, I do wish that each day included additional Bible verses to tie into the themed quotes. It would elevate each day and strengthen the readers knowledge. For instance, since this devotional is solely using passages within the gospels, I think it would’ve been good to share scriptures from other parts of the Bible, like the Old Testament. Imagine the Wednesdays, which are poetry days, being tied with a Bible verse from Psalms or Proverbs. I also think a guided prayer at the start of each week would strengthen the flow. Even so, the overall structure is thoughtful and effective. Loved loved the themed days.

Jesus Every Day, Jesus Every Way is a gentle, 52-week invitation to encounter Jesus in ordinary moments. It helps build a steady rhythm of Scripture, reflection, and prayer. This is perfect for a weekly reset that still flows into daily life. Hendey’s pastoral voice and practical prompts help readers notice Jesus at home, on commutes, in waiting rooms, and in moments of decision, making a devotional habit feel both accessible and deeply personal.

Why it blessed me

• The weekly format with Scripture and reflection means no overwhelm, just consistent formation that fits real schedules and seasons.
• Relatable stories and cultural touchpoints make spiritual insight feel lived-in, not lofty, while nudging toward prayerful action.
• A Christ-centered focus over the whole year helps cultivate a durable friendship with Jesus that moves from Sunday into weekday faithfulness.

If weekly Scripture, reflection, and actionable prompts are the spiritual cadence you seek for the year ahead, this devotional will serve as a faithful companion. It keeps Jesus at the center, every day and every way.
