This is a great non-fiction book with clear photographs and large print for transitioning readers. I enjoyed the way the book is broken up by introductory facts, questions, and activities to reinforce the concepts.

I highly recommend this book for nature centers, daycares, schools and libraries. Many forest schools would enjoy the activities as part of their activities.

Excellent book for young nature lovers!!

This book gets a 10/10 for formatting, content and straight up FUN! Filled with interesting facts, great pictures and awesome activities—this book will be a favorite for bug lovers and will be an inspiration to those who need a little encouragement to dip their toe into the world of bugs.

Highly recommend snagging a copy of this book when it comes out so you can gift it to the little humans in your life for Christmas!

Thank you Penguin for early access for this title.

I love integrating insects into my daily life with my toddler and this is a fun and engaging way to do so!
What we really enjoyed from the book:
1. The Insect Profiles had great quips and interesting fun facts.
2. The photos were clear and species accurate
3. The outdoor activities were fun and engaging, they’re easy to accomplish and my toddler really enjoyed them. Particularly the “I spy abc’s” on page 65 and the Wing Watcher activity on Page 48

Where the book lost me a bit:
There are several species in this book that are not bugs, it’s common to see these misconceptions but they are still incorrect
Pillbugs are not bugs or insects but Terrestrial Crustaceans.
Earthworms are also not bugs or insects but invertebrates that fall under the phylum Annelid.
