Many thanks to Macmillan Audio for the preview. All opinions are my own.

This was so wonderful! It’s definitely the most unique Cinderella retelling I’ve ever read—absolutely magical!
If you’re wondering how Ella dying and becoming a ghost can still follow the same beats, I won’t spoil anything, but you’ll be so surprised and delighted by the unusual HEA, just like I was.

There’s magic, a cursed prince, a stepsister who is the worst version of one, 3 nights of balls, and a foreign princess with sorcery. And it all ties together in a queer love story and an exploration of what it means to live.

Highly recommended!

Never in my years on Earth… Did I ever expect someone to write a retelling of Cinderella as a f*ckin’ house 😭😭😭 I know I’ve always complained about retellings not being actual retellings if you just follow the same storyline, but this? P L E A S E ☠️
As hilarious as it sounds… It’s actually not camp. The first few chapters when the step sister went Wreck-It Ralph in the room was omg lmfao.

This was a queer, gothic romance. Imagine Monster House, but she wasn’t able to fight back…
But she’s also a ghost?
I don’t know how to explain it. This was great though. Esp for a novella!! Usually I struggle w/ short stories being there isn’t enough details - it’s way too rushed, but this was one done really well.

Overall, I enjoyed this!! It gave us a VERY unique ☠️ spin forsure, but it also wasn’t just one aspect that made this so different. Which is why I applaud Freya Marske 👏🏽 She really gave us an actual RETELLING.
Anna Burnett did amazing narrating!!
