Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone for the ARC of Just Like Rabbit. First, the illustations are just so adorable and engaging. The story follows frog, who wants to be more like rabbit. His friends remind him that he is great at being a frog just as he is, but he still wants to make some changes, and they fully support him and do everything they can to help him be more like rabbit...eventually rabbit needs help and only a frog can do the job! Frog learns a lesson and is happy to be himself again. I really enjoyed this, and this would be a really great story time or classroom book.

This sweet book about being yourself is presented in a whimsical, kid-friendly way with stunning art work that helps tell the story rather than just reflect what you’ve read. My 3 year old and 5 year old loved “everything” about it, saying “there’s too much good stuff.” I find it’s hard to get them to engage in many books with good messages, but they loved this and so did I. It is definitely something I could read on repeat as all good kids books should be. This would also make a great spring seasonal gift for the little ones in your life, probably ages 3-8 though older and younger kids would likely still enjoy it with their siblings.

This was a cute one! I love how they showed you have your own strengths, it's great being YOU, and even those who you may be wanting to be like, may feel that way about you.
I thought the art style was cute and great for the woodland creatures.
Only thing that kind of pulled me out was the hiding of the eggs since that's more specifically an Easter Bunny situation and this felt like it was going to be more "realistic". Which I know sounds wild after reading a kid's book, but it's just something that stood out to me and I don't have a better way to explain it.
I'd give this 4.5!

Adorable! I love this book. I want a copy for my personal collection. Great illustrations. Fantastic message. Wonderful characters. I love everything about it.

Thank You for the ARC. The message in this story was phenomenal and so important to teach children. Just be yourself. I love how this story and lesson was presented and will be reading this again to my son once he gets older as it’s such an important message for kids. The pictures were also wonderful.

5 stars without a doubt.
I love that the colophon / copyright information page is illustrated and looks like it’s a part of the story. It’s very creative and I don’t think I’ve seen that done before. The illustrations are so adorable and fun. There were a ton of descriptor words, which I think is great for a children’s book. The story itself was also so well done. It showed friends pointing out Frogs strengths when he wants to change, them supporting Frog even when they didn’t understand him, and Frog realizing in the end he’s cool being exactly who he is

Just Like Rabbit is a cute book with a great message about comparison, self image, friendship, and acceptance. Frog wants to be just like rabbit and goes on a journey of self discovery, with the support of his friends. I loved that his friends continually reminded him that he was wonderful just as he was. Ultimately, through his experiences, frog realizes that being himself is the best thing to be! The illustrations were also very well done. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the arc in return for my honest review.

this was soo cute! i always love books that remind us not to compare ourselves to others and that everyone is unique in their own special way <3 i also really appreciated how the other animals were supportive of Frog even though they didn’t want him to change. i think it's such a sweet message about acceptance and friendship.

LOVE THIS! The message is great. I love that Frog's friends kept trying to tell him he was great just the way he was, but still helped him work on himself to change. They always made it clear that they loved him as he was, but were still supportive of him throughout his journey of self discovery. And then we get to the end, and it turns out Rabbit has actually always looked up to Frog too! It really goes to show that even if you can't see it in yourself, there are things about you that others admire about you just as much as you do them. I will be recommending this to my teacher friends to add to their classroom libraries!

I loved this book so much and it was a great opportunity to get my daughter to talk about her self-image and how everyone is unique and special I n their own ways. The message about not wanting to be someone else because everyone has their own gifts is perfect for young ones who are still learning to love themselves.
