First Touch is one of those "WTF DID I JUST READ?!?" kind of books. It's hot and twisty and dark--with a cliffhanger so big, you'll want to throw your Kindle (but don't because you will need it to read the second book).

With intriguing characters, hot and steamy time on every imaginable surface, and a bit of suspenseful mystery, this will have you glued to your Kindle.

I will say that the story is a little slow to start, but once it picks up steam (holy hot steam!), it gets really hard to put down and go about your normal life. All I know is that the second book is a must-read after that ending!

Mysterious, sexy, and dark, this book pulled me in and wouldn't let me go. First Touch was unique and well told and I couldn't get enough of the angst and tension between the characters. The gritty nature of this book appealed to me and the ending was painful in the very best of ways.

This was way steamier than I expected! Wow after reading a lot of YA lately, it was bit of a shock how hot and heavy things get so quickly. Emily and Reeve were unlike any book couple I've ever read about, but I really dug their chemistry. Reeve had so many quotable lines, I almost couldn't stop highlighting the entire book. I didn't know it was a series, but the story concludes in book two so the plot won't be dragged out unnecessarily. I look forward to reading Last Kiss.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review this title. Unfortunately in this instance,I didn't connect to the story. As I didn't finish reading, I will not be reviewing this title. Many thanks and I do look forward to picking up another read from this author.

(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

When Emily Wayborn goes home to visit her mom while on hiatus from her hit TV show, she receives a voicemail from her former best friend, Amber. Though the two were once notorious party girls, they haven't spoken in years. Although the message might sound benign to anyone else, Amber uses a safe word that Emily recognizes, a word they always used to get out of sticky situations during their wild days. And what's more chilling than the voicemail: it turns out that Amber has gone missing.
Determined to track down her friend, Emily follows a chain of clues that lead her to the enigmatic billionaire Reeve Sallis, a hotelier known for his shady dealings and play boy reputation. Now, in order to find Amber, Emily must seduce Reeve to learn his secrets and discover the whereabouts of her friend. But as she finds herself more entangled with him, she finds she's drawn to Reeve for more than just his connection to Amber, despite her growing fear that he may be the enemy. When she's forced to choose where her loyalty lies, how will she decide between saving Amber and saving her heart?

Well, that was a lot more than I expected! A dark romance with a heaping of erotica and a dash of suspense. Totally beyond what I thought I was getting into - and that's not a bad thing...

While I thought the MC's - Reeve and Emly - were a little clichéd (he, the arrogant, domineering guy; she, the submissive heroine) - but they were both so very well written that, for the most part, I didn't think about. They were crisp, fresh characters that I enjoyed getting to know (especially the flashbacks for Emily - they were very good!)

The plot for the story is pretty good as well. While I didn't hold my attention all the way through (to be fair, any form of romance novel usually has that issue), I still thought it was well laid out and the pacing of the suspense was well done.

However, this would have been a 5-star book if not for the "cliff-hanger ending." I detest them and think they are only used to sell the next book. It feels lazy and a waste of effort on my part if I read a 400-page book and get no resolution.

My first read of Laurelin Paige and a very interesting read it was. Did not realize that there would be continuing story for Reeves and Emily, but all in all very captivating, the suspense keeps you on the edge, and the passion between the two sure burns the sheet......and will be interesting to see how this relationship develops.

So torn on this one you guys! I mean I have such a love/hate with Reeve and Emily through it all but holy fuck there is just something about them that feels so right! They just GOT EACHOTHER!

It's an erotic suspense that follows Emily Wayborn as she sets out to find her friend Amber. Emily receives a voicemail and in this message Amber uses one of their secret words, a code word that means she's in trouble. And even though Emily hasn't heard from Amber in years, even though they parted ways and have chosen NOT to be in contact, she sets out on a quest to find her. Guess who has a connection? Oh Reevey boy!

Now while I do feel that most of this book was just high powered perfection, here comes Amber.

FUCK AMBER IN THE FACE! I DON’T LIKE HER! THE FUCKING DOUBLE BOMB DROPS! HATECHU!

But love you too.

Yeah I’m looking to get the other parts of this series.
