Melting Into You is the final book set in Falcon, Alabama. I was excited but nervous to be back in this environment again. I have enjoyed this series so much and I didn't want it to end on a sour note. Thankfully, it didn't and the connection between Lillianna and Alec really does bring everything together in a nicely wrapped conclusion.

The story of Lillianna Hancock and Alec Greyson starts out with a bang. Literally. These two characters have a history and it is because of this history that there is such a strong animosity between them. Or at least there is animosity for Lillianna towards Alec. When she was in college, she attended a party that star football player Alec was also at, and as the drinks flowed and the music played so did their chemistry. They wound up sleeping together a night that she remembers with vivid detail - and he does not remember at all.

Alec is confused as hell as to why Lillianna has all this animosity towards him. He knows that in the past he was a bit of a jerk. He had thrived on being the star football player and didn't think of his actions as he went from girl to girl but, he honestly doesn't remember her being there. He also doesn't understand how she has gotten under his skin from their first encounter in Falcon, Alabama. They are constantly butting heads and the spark that this forms is off the charts.

Lilianna doesn't want to like Alec. She doesn't even want to be in the same room as him but, that becomes especially difficult as she is trying to renovate her families old house and make it into a B&B. This house has so many issues and Alec as the inspector notices them all. And the more time they spend together, the more difficult it is to ignore the attraction that has always been there. Lillianna has always been a very strong headed and independent girl so it feels nice for her to have someone around to help her figure things out even if it is Alec.

The connection between Lillianna and Alec felt very realistic. There is definitely a push-pull dynamic which can be felt by everyone, including the people of Falcon. These two characters tried to deny it but everyone saw what was coming from a mile away. As always, I loved this dynamic that is the small town of Falcon. I have developed a real fondness for these characters who helped push Lillianna and Alec to see what was right in front of them when they were being stubborn and try to resist it.

Melting Into You is a nice conclusion to the Falcon, Alabama stories. Although the focus is on Lillianna and Alec, you get glimpses of the other romances, and are able to see how they have progressed. Even though I am now leaving this football obsessed town, I know that bits and pieces of them will stay with me for a long time to come.

This one wasn't as successful for me as some of the author's other works, but really lovely just the same. I so appreciate her voice of southern America and how grounded in reality her characters are.

Laura Trentham’s Falcon Football Series continues to be captivating and charming as I finally get to her third book, “Melting Into You”, as the city returned artist Lilliana Hancock is busy melting the hard demeanor of Alec Grayson.

With a NFL career gone south due to an injury and betrayed by close ones, Alec Grayson lives his dreams being the quarterback coach for the Falcon High School. Caring deeply and wanting to help teenagers keep off of the streets and give them a better chance at fulfilling their dreams, Alec would risk getting hurt and personally involved to help them.

And Lilliana Hancock was never a part of his life and his goal. Coming to Falcon to turn her father’s home into a B&B hasn’t been easy, yet is a better plan than being a struggling artist in the Big Apple. Although making out with Alec, who also happens to be the town contractor, was never on her agenda.

Attraction has a way to bring people together, chemistry is a powerful element to bond and empathy and helpfulness is a common goal that brings Alec and Lilliana together as they try to sort through the fears and insecurities, past hurt and betrayal and come to grips of their for each other.

Another charming book by Laura Trentham, “Melting Into You” is a warm hearted read definite to bring a smile, a tear, a chuckle and the pleasure of reading a sweet love story.

Received an ARC from St. Martins Press via NetGalley for an honest review.
