It’s always interesting to read the same timeline of a story but from different character’s perspectives and with slightly different twists. Each couple ends up having their own way to save the town from being developed.
I loved Weston and Fiona’s meet cute. Despite her recent breakup, there was definite chemistry between them from the start.
This is a sweet story with just a splash of heat. I give it 5 stars.

This has been my favorite of the series so far!! Weston was so sweet and didn’t come in with the playboy persona that needed to be fixed of that he was trying to change. I loved that. I feel like it makes the most sense for this series. Fiona was great. I feel like I didn’t know too much about her from the other books but I’m glad we got to know her and she was able to still pursue her dreams and career aspirations. I was skeptical of her friend Hayley..and still kind of am but oh well. Love this clean romance!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for this eARC!

Soulmates and Slapshots was such a cute and cozy read! I was looking forward to a small town, fall vibes, hockey romance. And I have to say this book delivered on the small town and fall vibes. Now I want to visit Maple Falls and get the pumpkin bread too!!
Although I think I just needed more for the romance. The book is pretty small so it feels very fast paced and I feel like I didn't get enough time to get attached to them. Some topics were also a bit repetitive (big drama in town, tiktok videos, NYC, Fiona having to go back). I wanted more small moments instead, more Weston and Fiona being cute together! Overall very easy and cozy hockey romcom!
Thank you Netgalley for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion 🫶🏽

i mean did all the authors of this series get together themselves? did someone get them together knowing they'd be producing magic as a wider whole? i mean how did this happen because it IS magic and these books are golden. the authors also fit perfectly for each couple and then together just make me want to cry with happiness and feel good fizzles. also its making it terribly hard to not explode because every time i think i've met my favourite couple another author brings the next part in the series and flaws me once again. what i love is also how they feel connected and part of this series set in Maple but also thy are simply adorably their own thing because of the authors style.
these books, this series is one of my favourite ever!
Fiona and Weston have my heart. and oh and her Aunt was just a golden addition to this book.
i love how the pair really do become friends. its solid, its true and feels just as important. its also felt to be safer for the pair since Fiona is only her for her reset after a tough time back home in the city.
but getting to know each other better and better means something else is clear. they are better than better than friends too. something is brewing that goes deeper.
they have both moved from the city for different reasons. hes moved here for good with work and she just for a visit. their connection was so strong and being formed from friendship just made you feel all the more beautiful as it transformed. but the base was their so it wasn't all lust rip you clothes off? no. but sometimes that deeper knowing for each other and then development can be even more absorbing to read.
i love how Fiona becomes more and more invested into the town as she tries to save it from an investor. its settles itself around her.
Weston is also trying to adapt to this new way of living. hes willing to give it his all though. he was a really calming influence throughout this book. he wasn't a hockey jock or what you usually get and that felt refreshing and real. just a really good egg who i loved getting to know and then cared about even more with him falling in love.
the team in this book though is a brilliant theme. be it with the hockey or with the community and often they overlap. the support and genuine love they have for each other is written so well and feels so warming when you read those moments and also make you laugh as they can be that banter and fun element too.
Maple Falls has certainly had my heart from the get go. and this one only adds to that feeling. another stunning and adorable read.

Fiona and Weston are both new in town when they meet. She's wondering what comes next after her life came crashing down. He's just been traded to the Ice Breakers. Did they find each other in the right place at the right time?

Soulmates and Slapshots is just about the sweetest hockey romance I've ever read. Weston is a total green flag and I love him for it. And Fiona got her much-deserved happy ending (yay!). It made me want to book a flight to Maple Falls so I could become best friends with her and get caught up in all the Ice Breaker shenanigans.

An adorable, quick read that's full of cozy fall vibes. Fiona is trying to escape heartbreak in New York by vacationing in the tiny town of Maple Falls. Hockey defenseman Weston has just been traded to the Icebreakers and he falls hard for Fiona right from the start.
For fans of small town romance and the he falls first (and harder) trope.
Fiona and Weston have good chemistry and the book really balances the hockey parts (and Weston feeling insecure about his place in the league) with the romance and the (perhaps a bit too numerous) side plots.
Overall, a cute and short hockey romance packed with a lot of fall flare and sweet moments.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book early

What can I say about this book you get hockey romance and a small town romance does anything get better then that I think not. I love all of the characters involved in this story and I can wait to read the rest of them either. They so perfect for fall romance read.
