I normally love Christina Lauren, but this one didn't land quite right with me. I didn't connect with Cat or Brigan, and the tension between the two felt forced and resolved too quickly and easily for the plot's sake. Brigan's creaturehood felt too vague, and too much of the limited time was dedicated to his tortured past. Marli Watson's narration was phenomenal; I liked Nicholas Boulton's Brigan voice and narration but cringed every time he did a Cat voice. I appreciated the Twilight nods.
